If anyone is thinking about picking up this set in the US and are nite owls with access to Amazon business pricing, these have been popping up just about every night for 50 bucks. I've picked up 3 of these in the past week.

Yes Walmart clearance few months ago. Was a weekly mark down could almost time it. Was every Tuesday it would show 19 from 59. Only 3-4 walmarts had them but I watched it daily.

Playsets are almost always investment "turds".  Just look at the performance of 75052, which included a ridiculous number of unique minifigs, Luke's landspeeder, and some sort of giant green lizard, but still barely made it 50% over MSRP after a year.  75093 pales in comparison.  Gray and ugly, with no vehicles and few minifigs.  I would have bought at $30.

75093 is a nice set that most Star Wars fan will eventually want.

It's also a pretty cool set with nice play features for the kiddies.

It was readily available for 50€. The only inconvenience was that you had to buy a Death Star as well.

At this point, anyone buying at RRP for investment? Seems to have been selling a bit higher than that on ebay, but not sure it'll continue to rise. Any thoughts?

Last I checked mine still had some too. They went on price drop at one point.

 

The only one of these I ever bought was at $40.00 manager markdown at Walmart. I ended up selling it for 60something on BL because the box was dinged. Might be a good pickup using the $15 off $45 coupons.

Too early to declare this a winner? $130 FBA.  Not a bad start.

There were a lot of naysayers too...loved picking these up for $50 or under

i have to say i'm surprised with this set.  never seemed to sell when it was on the shelves but yeah creeping up and not a huge seller count.  i have a half a dozen to unload once we get to the $150s.  

I managed to score 7 of these during May 4th plus a dozen that I stashed away last year from various promos. ?

This is great set. Pair this with tidirium... gold.

 

These were available at Target for $50-55 for what seemed like forever.  I remember texting a Brickpicker friend "think we'll regret not loading up on these at this price?"

I grabbed a few, should have bought a terry dozen.

This was selling just fine at $140 until the FBA a-holes jumped in.
