My crew cashed in our AT-ATs to build this:

I sold my last 3... see ya.. The profit I made from hoarding this set pretty much paid for most of our star wars collection over the last few years.  It was beautiful.

  • that's ok - it's still infinite profit when you put up none of your own money.  100% agree that's what this is.  it's not like someone was like - oh look i have a bunch of at-at's lying around i forgo

Everyone always says it sucks when the box art comes out.   But what you guys don't seem to get is that when you get a blizzard, you're supposed to take this set outside and build a fort with it.  It's in the video!

And it's not too far off from the real thing:

The white color tone is superb. Not very many sets are in white with snow theme.

been there. done that.

not if they release a new one... ;)

of course they will release a new one  but not this year.

900+ piece at-at's are like clockwork  3-4 years.  2003-2007-2010-2014.

2017-2018 would be the time to worry.

plenty of time to sell.  especially when the new "UCS" hoth battle set is missing the most important part.

why not? New MF came out 10 month after old EOL. New Death Star comes after a few months out.

And the AT-AT looks good in front of the new Hoth Echo Base... resellers are not the only one who know this...

"old rules" can lie in current times with x SW movies every year....

Yes, but what cannot lie is TLG production capacity and design process ;)

Not sure how I feel about this... if I have to wonder i am sure it's not too good

If you want to chat/comment about 75098 Assault on Hoth by itself, please visit the thread so we can keep the conversation in one place.

If you want to talk about 75098's affect on the AT-AT, then you can keep doing so here.

Not moving any posts, just want to keep the distinction between the two threads before it goes off the rails.  Thanks.

There's already a crowded field of UCS coming out this year. A new AT-AT seems unlikely as that's an OT model and the main focus on the play sets this year seems to be on the new movies. If there was an AT-AT ready on May 1st we'd have heard of it by now. If the price is right a month or two after the release of the Hoth play set, I'm selling.

This might be some good news for folks holding 75054. Some details are emerging from early footage of Rogue One. These might stick out like sore thumbs in the snow.

Spoiler

Quoted from IGN -  "...an image showed two AT-ATs that had a slightly different look with the door panel on the side of the body painted a lighter beige color."

Looking at the first wave of rogue one sets with their piece counts I'd say that 75054 investors can breathe a sigh of relief, because unless they've dramatically reduced the piece count there's  not going to be an At-At released in September. If in fact they do star in the film, demand may even go up despite the color difference.

75158 is still unconfirmed so let´s not dance too soon and 75159 will pobbly be the flagship Death Star.

One of the 2 larger sets is likely to be an X Wing iteration and there would have to be some type of Tie Fighter style villain craft too.

I don't think an x-wing will be in the initial Rogue One wave of 5 lego sets.  I'm starting to think those two sets are Tantive IV (the $149.99 USD set) and an AT-AT is the next rung down.   Although, there was a rumor over at eurobricks, granted it was unconfirmed, and seemed very speculative that the $119.99 USD set is a large scale playlet of some sort.

There's also an AT-ST rumored.  The more those make sense, hence why the AT-ST and AT-AT from last year seemed to retire a bit earlier than one would expect.  Slave 1 has also been tossed around.

certainly possible.  though its more likely 75158 will be a mid-priced Target/TRU/WM exclusive, assuming it exists at all.  Retailer Exclusives often show up as the last number or two in the series.

Brickset allude to an OT style X wing and Tie and you would expect them to be in the movie. Part count and prices match. Perhaps it will mean a cull for TFA sets as having 4 x wings on the go seems too much.

Just raised my price by $75 CDN to $350 after seeing the Rogue One trailer. Sold one last week at the old price so this will sell fairly soon I expect.

Rouge One may fit the OT's fans appetite. And they are AFOL who have a higher potential to pay more than the young starwars fans.

my $0.02
