September 28, 201510 yr So mad that I didn't get tires when they were available last week. Grrr. Will have to keep trying.
September 30, 201510 yr Built the Winter Village Post Office which arrived in the mail today. The availability of the Toy Shop motivated me to complete my collection of this theme and I ordered this set, the Bakery, and the Cottage and I am thrilled about being able to display the complete collection this year.
October 3, 201510 yr Bricktober Hotel It's a fun little build. I love the colors they use, and I like the way it's put together.

October 3, 201510 yr The crooked Hotel sticker is really bugging me. I've come to accept that I can only put on stickers crooked.
October 3, 201510 yr Built the 7961 Sith infiltrator, which I picked up for £20. It was an ok build, only took couple of hours though.Hopefully get my money back on this after i've removed the minifigs.
October 3, 201510 yr As it's been monsooning here I've taken the opportunity to knock out a few sets from a recent lot so I can get them listed and sold.
October 4, 201510 yr Popular Post That time of year again! The kid was so psyched about (surprise) opening 16 new minifigs... Edited October 4, 201510 yr by Kenxxx
October 5, 201510 yr Another evening looking up...last time it was "beer building." Today I'm bourbon building...or maybe mash manufacturing...ethanol engineering?
October 5, 201510 yr Popular Post My son and I completed our bricklink'd Super Star Destroyer. Love the build, and the size is pretty impressive. If I had one gripe, it's that the mini-figs cannot stand up in the faux-bridge they included. To pose them, you have to leave the cover off. To store them in there, they all have to be either sitting or laying down. I substituted a handful of internal parts due to cost, like the yellow right-angle brackets that cost around $5 each. Total cost was under $400 spread out over a few months (to avoid the wife radar), but we still need to buy 2 of the 5 mini-figs. The exercise of finding the parts, maximizing the orders, inventorying and sorting, and then finally building, was a VERY worthwhile and fun project. Almost like an archaeological dig of sorts.
October 7, 201510 yr Finished most of the Winter Village theme today with the Bakery and the Market sets. The design of the Market carousel is awesome and the building technique to make the horses rock is new to me. It does feel small for a $100 set but I'm happy to have it. I still need to find room for the smaller bits and pieces - I wish Lego had put those parts into making each building a little bigger and more detailed. Closer to the holidays I am going to put these down on some gray baseplates and add some white bricks but for now these are aligned in my closet. October 7, 201510 yr the amy now has it's kingthe "amy" ^.^ had to laugh more about that than about the actual picture ^.^ good job!
October 8, 201510 yr Just finished LEGO First Order Troop Transport and I must say that though I have not been overly thrilled by this set at first and bought it for the minifigs, that the build is suprisingly enjoyable!I'm also very happy with the result. Especially the front door mechanism is nice. The minifigs are neat, even though I don't like the resistence fighters too much when it comes to the design. But okay... they are normal people... I get it.All in all it's a solid pretty enjoyable build that comes with some useful parts for MOCing.
October 9, 201510 yr I built the SD Mystery Mansion to add to my Halloween display. Lots of fun, loving care from the designers here--making sure to include a kitchen for Scooby and Shaggy is a plus. My one gripe: decals. The flippin' numbers on the clock face are decals! Arrrgh. Me: All my life, decals have been my nemesis.Wife: (I'm going to post that on Facebook.)
October 9, 201510 yr I got the last few pieces I needed for the 5004590 Bat-pod and built it last night. It is such an awesome set and now I need to crack open one of my Tumblers to go along side of it.

October 9, 201510 yr Earlier this week it was shot/vacinne day for my son at the doctors, so my wife bribed him with The First Night (21115). He is obsessed with Minecraft. He almost completely abandoned LEGO over it. Is it possible to go into the Dark Ages at age 5? If it weren't for the Minecraft sets, he probably would have already. The build was pretty fragile. More fragile than any other set I constructed. But when the finishing touches came into place on the roof perimeter, the set was pretty sturdy. I like the look and a few of the details, especially on the pig pen gate and fence. I also like the detachable roof and dark grey bricks. If you are a Minecraft fan, this is a fun set to add to the collection. This reminds me of the Hobbit Unexepected Gathering. I sold/traded all of mine before building one. I kind of regret that now Edited October 9, 201510 yr by BrickLegacy
