Cool. That reminds me, one of these days LEGO should release a UCS Republic Cruiser. It could go toe-to-toe (or bow-to-stern I guess) with the Imperial Star Destroyer.

This pic makes the T1 looks like a mini one... yet... then the TV will be small... which implies, that TV is humongous!!! Is it 50+ in?

Finished the Tumbler (another multi-day build). Build was just OK for me, I much prefer the minifig scale builds. But the display value is omggggg. And I did like how they broke the build up into smaller parts (like sandcrawler) so you built a piece then connected it to the main model. Definitely made it more exciting that way.

Sites like www.worldbricks.com or www.toysperiod.com have instructions. Not sure how new they to go to though.

Oh well. I think those two sites specialise more in vintage sets. Which is why I use them.

It is indeed, 55 in with old style wide brackets

Finished the 42030 Volvo Loader yesterday. Not as complex as the 42009 Mk II Crane, of course but really entertaining to drive around... the XL motor gives it some nice torque. I wish I could find one on sale or used to build the B model to go with it.

Starting to disassemble a mostly built R2 I bought so I can build it myself. Bummer though when I opened the box since I was told it would be disassembled already. Anyway, it'll go next to my R5 and Vader's TIE Advanced.

Ewok village, great build, lots of mini figs and great to look at when finished.

I've been rebuilding a bunch of my girls' Lego friends that they demolished into the component bricks. Now that my oldest got the friends vet clinic for her birthday she sees the value in keeping the sets together to play with. I think it's pride of completing a build (mostly) by herself as well. She doesn't want it taken apart yet.

My eyes are burning from the fluorescent greens, pinks and blues but they seem to love it. I'm still amazed at how my girls respond to these sets versus other "boys" sets. I think whenever this line goes EOL most of these sets will be gold.

So I've rebuilt:

Vet clinic

Emma's horse trailer

Puppy's playhouse

Orangutan's (Moneky's) banana tree

Still have Macaw's fountain and brown bear's cave to go and a few other miscellaneous sets to go. Pray that my retinas hold out. :D

Finished the Ferrari F1 Race car 8674 set.  It is a very nice set, however, I still prefer the Williams F1 Race car.

 

Opened one of the $150 Town Halls and just finished the build. Second favorite modular so far.

I put together from Mixels Series 2 the Frosticons followed by the Fang Gang. First off I like blue and curvy parts so the cold crew was already a joy to begin with. Plus after the first series I liked how the characters strayed from the previous norms I noticed (short, tall, medium). Immediately I like how Slumbo went together, he stands very firm of a character, and it was my first chance seeing those minifigure head eyes which are pretty neat I think. My other favorite of this group would be the goofy beer belly dragon named Lunk who kind of looks drunk and those blue ninja blades hanging from his nose I guess is ....frozen booger snot. Ha. The little guy with wings, Lurr, is uniquely cute.

After building those fairly quickly, I went onto the Fang Gang which are both cool and a little creepy to be honest. With all those teeth they're like the stuff of nightmares. Anyway my personal favorite far as character goes continues to be Chumly for the goofball name and that hilarious face! Haha. Now as to build experience I think Gobba was great and he looks the same way too. He can be a bit disturbing with the mouth closed having rows of teeth like a shark and his very form reminds me of the fun b-movies "Critters" if anyone remembers those. Jawg, well, looks like a dog....a really weird dog with spiky chompers that could scare a kid with that rather huge jaw wide open. Yeesh.

Overall I really enjoyed building those two tribes between character design, assortment of parts, and techniques incorporated. I think I liked the Fang Gang a tad better on one hand for the way each was built and how they look but then again the shaping for the Frosticons well as color choice hit high on the mark for me too. Well I just have the Flexers left to complete Series 2. They definitely look like the odd bunch ....from an already odd bunch.

I built the last of Mixels Series 2 with the Flexers and rather quick too I might add. Amazing how fast the momentum seems to go after building for a few days. I forgot my hands could actually move that quick. Heh. Moving forward, I find myself enjoying the line more than the last with each passing tribe by the build and this last crew was very interesting in many aspects.

Between Kraw, Tentro, and Balk, I honestly cannot pick one as a favorite out of the group. I thoroughly enjoyed building each critter, found their appearance delightfully quirky & fun, and the palette of colors was perfect. Tentro is basically a large squid which I think is neat, Kraw is like a large crab with a big mouth, and Balk ....I'm not really sure what he is but I like it. Ha. Speaking of Balk, the ball caps do work as eyelids although there is that bill sticking out the front but I can't really think of a more appropriate part unless they had the new Pirates bandana in orange perhaps.

Funny thought on the side is when you look as these Flexers, you realize more or less they are, um, tentacle monsters. ....Well I bet these guys were really popular in Japan. (If I have to explain that joke, consider yourself lucky and do not Google the material.)

Anyway in the end altogether I have been joyfully impressed with the parts assortment, choice of colors, character design, and build techniques used in these Mixels and as of this moment I feel like Series 2 has been a step up from the first. I imagine I shall feel the same with Series 3 and beyond. Man I love these little freaks. BRING ON SERIES 3!

it's a mixel kinda day. just finished the last couple I had left ot build. now just series 3 green maxel and i'll be done. up to 36 mixels and 5 maxels.

Nah one copy of each was bought to build. I mentally cut the seals years ago  Found both a GE and PS for ~$60 each on CL in 2013. Had to open a TH and FB. The guy who was going to sell them to me used (who I had previously bought SSD + a bunch of other SW from) put them on CL and I missed out by a few minutes.

 

 

Which is your favorite?

 

FB by a long margin. Was also my first, so that unfairly makes it extra special vs. all others.

 

I don't have any earlier than FB and am building them in order. I thought the FB overall used more advanced building techniques than the rest which is strange based on it's age. FB > TH > GE > PS is my preference so far. All have been great, this is more an order of greatness.

 

I think I will break from the city theme and build HH or AA when I do my next modular.

I wanted to comment on TOK's depiction of Mixel building.  I started reading each of these posts and quit after 2 sentences as I was confident that you either have great typos or were writing in a foreign language.

 

Some friends and I rebuilt the Green Grocer and Pet Shop on the weekend.    GG>CC>PC>GE>FB>PS>Market Street.  I haven't built TH yet because it will cost me too much to break the seals on one and I will eventually find one used.  My PR and DO are sitting in my "to be built" section but I expect them to rocket near the top of my ranking.

Tantive IV - fun build, typical minifgure scale issues, but a good set nonetheless.

Listed it Monday, sold in less than a day - $234.99 shipped. Shocked at how quickly it sold. If there's a take away, it's that Star Wars Lego is sizzling HOT right now.

"Kill Crites." It has been a while so I can't remember all the scenes. One of my favorites was the one when they got into the kitchen eating up everything with one getting into the chili on the stove. Yeah I'm sure its immature but still funny.

I recall in another series called "Ghoulies" there was a scene towards the end where the guy sat on the toilet and one of the things, well, I'm sure you can imagine. Needless to say I lifted the lid before sitting down for a long time after that. Haha.
