What LEGO set did you build today?

Two of our more popular threads are "What LEGO set(s) did you buy today?" and "What LEGO set(s) did you sell today?" These threads are filled with great information. But we all know LEGO bricks are about "building" LEGO sets and models, so why shouldn't we talk about it on this site as well? I mean, many LEGO sets that are fantastic builds are also investment winners, so why shouldn't people share some of their experiences of build and set quality that might affect LEGO set values, either positively or negatively? Let us know what you built today and your overall thoughts on the set. Don't forget to leave more in depth reviews in our LEGO SET REVIEWS section...

This set felt like an alt build from the start. Lots of decent parts.8587cc46f88a254dcbfcb0e02f4b16ea.jpg

Was keeping my last copy of 40338 for myself, but the price has got to such an obscene level that I had to sell it.

So we created the spares-mas tree. Loosely plagiarized on 40338

Great job! I have a 40338 stashed away as well - might need to sell mine too. Buying all parts Used from BL is ~$30-$35 ex shipping according to BrickStore, so I think I'm just going to go that route.

Guess I know what I’m doing with my copy that’s stashed away.

I'm waiting till it hits $300

I reclaimed and built the 442 Space Shuttle and 6813 Galactic Chief sets from my childhood parts bin and Bricklinked the few pieces I was missing or were yellowed.

I missed out on this one and has been on my radar.  As an early entry to the classic scenes sets...I kinda ignored it as I didn't think the series would continue...but it clearly has and now I "need" one (such an iconic scene)

That’s exactly what I did. Aside from no box or instructions, one could never tell the difference. 7608e4346b01858c7afa2780bdd93d92.jpg

This is brilliant:

Hopefully they will utilize the same tool when they redesign the UCS Imperial Shuttle.  That will allow for an interior with the space savings of a worm gear.

I did.  I’m building it per the instructions and will deal with the dissembling issue when the time comes.

"'I will give you a name,' he said to it, 'and I shall call you Sting.'"

I hadn't planned it this way, but a Bricklink order arrived a few days ago that contained mostly parts for other builds but also happened to have the last main pieces I needed for this model from Build Better Bricks, so I was able to finish during 1 day before the 20th anniversary of Fellowship coming to theaters.
