April 3, 20187 yr Popular Post £7 from a carboot sale, had to replace some missing parts on Bricklink though, total buy-in was around £30.
April 10, 20187 yr Built 4842 with my 5yo from a bulk buy. Still need to find all the figs floating around in the bulk before I list it up for sale. My kid built most of it while I pulled the pieces for him. He loves Lego just like his daddy!

She did one of those wine and painting classes with her friend a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Edited April 10, 20187 yr by oneknightr
April 15, 20187 yr i built these two Dragon Sanctuary today. I bought one on auction on ebay ($93) and got another one on CL ($60). Both were 100% complete with boxes and manuals. Sealed ones are way too expensive.
April 16, 20187 yr 75210 - Moloch's Landspeeder. This thing is hefty and solid. The rotary cannon is a nice touch and it has nice on-bord storage for nearly all the extra parts. I haven't bought a SW set in a long time, so no clue why I sent with this and 75209. It just appealed to me.
April 22, 20187 yr Love the final result but man was the build frustrating. By far the worst instructions I've had to work with and I've built a lot of classic sets. Cleaning baked in dust and sorting 500+ black pieces added to the frustration (I actually don't mind refurbing classic sets but this one again was more difficult than usual). I added the railing in the back of the "message intercept" section. Anyway, I really dig the abstract nature of classic space base sets. Not all are good but this one and a few of others are kind of beautiful to look at. Edited April 22, 20187 yr by Mathew
May 1, 20187 yr Ninjago sets from a 90+ set purchase from a few weeks ago. No parts or minifigs were missing on these There were also some smaller Ninjago sets and a 9445 is missing 1 minifig. Thankfully I sold most of the Mega Blok in the lot for $155 to help offset the $175 buy-in. Next up from this lot are the large Star Wars sets.
May 10, 20187 yr Popular Post Not essentially today but finally after months of planning, ordering multiple times from brick-link, buying from PaB walls in store, redesigning, restructuring, testing, balancing, rebuilding, destroying by accident... I was finally able to finish my extremely frustrating but fantastic project of mounting this extremely fragile but adorable baby on the wall. 75192 is mounted on a solid TV-Mount (plate) attached to the wall with custom extended 4 point weight distribution bolts to keep it well balanced across the mid-structure without putting to much pressure on single section of the chassis. With some extra changes to the weight and centre-balance I was able to give it little more angular aspect to get more "air" on the bottom. Clearance on the top to the wall is about 1.5cm and bottom 6.5cm. That clearance on top and bottom gave me a little more leeway in designing the schematics for lighting kit. After testing with number of different lighting setups I came up with this as a final design. I wanted to give it on the bottom an extra push of light for obvious reasons :) Lighting is fully programmable with already programmed by me ignition sequence - flashing white lights -> red quick ignition pulse -> blue light -> blue light fading in/out. whole thing is remote controlled. reference: https://youtu.be/jPEYpryMp2s?t=75 + custom made sockets (under bottom engine outlets on left and right) for 2x 10 000 mAh Powerbanks to juice the lighting kit because from very beginning I wanted to avoid the cable management situation and keep it as clean as possible. And here it is.. I'm proud but exhausted and tired with whole thing... hope you gonna like it
May 10, 20187 yr @Shewie - great set-up! You need to post a video, so we can see it beyond the 2-D picture. Plus I'd like to see the lighting sequence.
May 11, 20187 yr Finished up the UCS Y-Wing this afternoon after work. Got to say, probably my least favorite build of the UCS series thus far. The end result is very nice, but being in a near constant state of greebling just isn't very satisfying. The cockpit portion of the build was nice to see those angles some together, but the rest was less than such. The fins at the rear kept falling off as well. Very glad I never spent big money on a 10134 as I'm assuming the build is very similar.

May 20, 20187 yr Popular Post I built the 70413 The Brick Bounty and it was a fun build that was not repetitive. The shark is missing (I bought set used on CL), is on order from BrickLink and roaming the high seas battling an alligator (in the background of the first picture) is not the same, unless you are sailing in the Florida Everglades or the Louisiana bayou. That imaginative play is beyond my scope and I am a completist. The sails really stand out and that is why I wanted this set. This set is a great alternative to the higher priced ships in the Pirate series, especially for those that got back into Lego a little late like I did and missed the 10210 Imperial Flagship, 6285 Black Seas Barracuda, and the 6243 Brickbeard’s Bounty. The minifigure selection is very good and I am a Pirate series fan! One minifigure is not in the photo, though I did have it (Pirate 4 - Vest and Anchor, Eyepatch ). The Pirate Captain almost looks like Captain Brickbeard, and in some ways looks even better. My only minor complaint with this set is it only comes with two cannons, not four – an easy mod and fix.
