My 7 year-old son got the Creator Lighthouse 31051 for his birthday. Of course I had to 'help him' build it.

Maybe for his 8th, I can get him an Expert set.

I'm reminded of Austin Powers 2

Showing your age there, as with every other joke in Austin Powers 2 it was a copy of an old one. This was from Doctor Strangelove originally.

Nice heavy set with plates.

Yeah I am surprised the green plates exclusive to this set aren't worth more.  They are good for stadium MOCs.

Built the telehandler. Fun little build, and I really like the 4 wheel steering.

Definitely not worth $30 but at over half off currently at Amazon and Walmart not bad. Bag 1 has a small red car and 2 minifigs did not open that one.

I've been tempted by this, simply because it's a good looking set. And something a bit unusual for a City set. As it has unique pieces, does it make it a better investment? If you can get it at a good price of course. ?

This morning's builds.... 6268

Missing the sails and string which drops the price from £50 to £35

and a little 6656 from 1985.

I don't invest in the city theme. If a set has rare pieces then it is less likely to be Brick linked so that further decreases its availability EOL.

6210 Jabba's Sail Barge. Feels old, but still a great set! Of note, I still have the original sticker sheet, but I going to opt for a replica sheet from BL.

I believe the ship looks better than the new one.
