It's becoming quite the line-up for this "series" of statues: (recent Yoda), Porg, BB8, (Wall-E), R2D2

size-wise and details checks many boxes for display...I just think so many have been made (based on seeing so many on retailer shelves) that it will take some time (if ever) to appreciated meaningfully...but nonetheless great series to collect for AfoLs looking to display

I love the smooth look of the flat plates and surfaces, but man do they show fingerprints.  Even if I wash my hands before building the pieces still show greasy fingerprints.  I end up wiping the whole set down when I'm finished (the Mustang was the worst for this).

would wearing gloves work?

About to start this big boy. No numbered bags?! Old school technic time I guess.

Just noticed I got two identical sticker sheets. Anyone else built this know if that's standard?

Two recent builds:

1. Hogwarts Great Hall (expanded using 2 sets - but only pieces from the sets, no add-ons). Was fairly straight-forward to do. Increased width and height.

2. Fully enclosed Hagrid's Hut (using 2 sets, no additional pieces). This one was a bit more tricky, as it I had to make the bases hexagonal to keep the shape of the huts.

Lol, I cracked open an orange porsche a couple years ago and have yet to finish.  Those Technic sets take forever, lol.

That's awesome.  I wish I had the time to do this.  Usually the first thing I think about is combining several of the same sets to make more massive, complete builds.  Good job

Whew. That looks....difficult. No wonder I stick with system and stay away from Technic!

I've thought about starting on this one. Seeing all those gears makes me excited but keeps me from working on my real car projects!

It’s no joke. One mistake on the gears & you can waste hours of work. Up to page 115/400. That’s it for today.

As a build over Christmas with my youngest we finished Treebeard (with some modifications to Jason Allemann's original design to fit Pippin and Merry).

Jasons only used parts came from a (crushed box) 10236 but we ended up adding a few other types of foilage. Still planning to sort out the face a bit, but overall we are really happy with it. A great build and one we'll keep and have a case built for.

Finished this fun build. I was very impressed with the techniques used and the overall look of the finished models, especially the T. rex. 19196c71bcf2ac32fe091200fbfc2ac5.jpg

Now on to this one...finally!

76052 Classic Batcave. Have never seen the classic show, so my description will be in layman's terms. Overall, a decent, but not great, set. Similar to the disaster hoth set, I found it to be too many small parts lacking coordination. However, I found the "manor" facade and building excellent, as well as the batmobile. In my opinion, all 3 buildings should have been the same height, this is the biggest negative aspect. This could have been achieved by decreasing the height of the right building and eliminating the batmobile parking spot. That is filler and useless. The chopper pad could have then had something else underneath, and above the console section could have been another section of the house. 3 "medium height" buildings with a facade on the outside of each, would have presented a respectable manor, as opposed to what we got here.

I call this my ebay barn find. This was a terribly written listing that had wrong model number. I made a super low ball offer that was accepted. Paid too much for slow delivery, but finally arrived, tore it down, washed it up, put it back together from scratch, replaced missing parts and turned out to get a sweet cheap Ferrari in the end. Pretty happy overall.

Badly written EBay postings are your best friend. I have now twice scored great deals on listings that were for multiple sets but failed to mention this in the listing title and main picture. Most people just glance and don't realize its a 2-for-1.

I've never played Overwatch but I think a bunch of the sets are cool. The Walmart sale forced my hand.

Made a trip with my boys to one of our local Lego Stores for their monthly build.  They also gave us a mini bat mobile to build later but we haven't started yet.

That's a great monthly build.  I found the instructions I'll brinklink a few parts and make one!

Been waiting for 31105 Toy Store to come out for my amusement park.  Bought two and built the 2nd one as a mirror image of the first.  In the process of turning the 2nd one into an ice cream shop.  These two buildings will eventually form the entrance to "main street" at the park.

This is the second page of the instructions they let me take a pic of for the "mini bat mobile" as they called it.
