August 8, 20169 yr Nothing crazy. Just moved in and most of my collection is still in boxes. Nice little set.
August 8, 20169 yr Popular Post We finished our used, complete 10188 Death Star over the weekend. Turns out it wasn't complete, as it is missing the Luke Skywalker Tatooine mini figure. On the other hand, it included 8 extra mini figures and a couple of extra spy droids. Looks like its all the mini figures from the 7676 republic attack gunship, An older Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker, an Imperial Officer from 6211 ISD, and an Anakin with Black right hand from 2005 with the wrong legs. Overall, its a pretty impressive set and my son loves the play features. It took a while to build, but the finished product is nice. Now that I finished building 10188 and am posting pictures, Lego will likely release pics of 75159 and it will be the coolest set ever. Lol.
August 9, 20169 yr Popular Post Finished up my BB-8, a slightly different take than the one that @Locutus001 did about a month ago. I did bricklink the stand from his build because I like having the option to display it with the stand or without. Comparing the two, the biggest difference is in BB-8's head, though there are differences in the body as well. Definitely a fun little build, and it displays great. It was my first BL project, so that made it fun as well. Edited August 9, 20169 yr by uaford
August 10, 20169 yr What's with these "hidden contents" blocks - they don't work for me. Never opens up.

August 11, 20169 yr My daughter and I built this Bionicle Skull Scorpio set today. Impressive and detailed build for a small set! The claws in the back snap open and close using a neat rubber band mechanism. Best $7 I spent and she is so happy
August 11, 20169 yr Just built the Louvre! Couldn't wait to build one after visiting it this summer! Next up Eiffel Tower or Parisian cafe ?! [emoji848]

I made a home for my Space Slug set on my desk at work. Here are a few pics of this small collection. I have some other stuff I haven't set out yet after my recent office move.

August 13, 20169 yr Popular Post Spent some time and built the new Spider-Man Web Warrior Bridge (76057). Had to modify and combine two, of course! Then added lighting into the side and top of the towers, and under the bridge as well.
August 13, 20169 yr Popular Post So I recently build 42056 (Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS) and added lights. There has been ongoing discussion as well on eurobricks on how to improve the set, and I have been involved and took many of those recommendations and implemented them. A full read, with pics and video can be found here: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/431720 But quickly here are some teaser pics. Overall, happy with the way things turned out.
August 13, 20169 yr Built 42055 the new Giant Bucket Wheel Loader Techinc set. Great build. Man that set is a monster. And incredibly all it's multiple power functions are all controlled by a single motor.

I use different lighting elements from a place called Lifelites.com. It is owned/run by a gentleman named Rob and I believe they are out of Arkansas. I like to use battery packs (with on/off switches) and half the battle is trying to find a place to put them or hide them. In this build I hid two battery packs with the wiring in each tower, and then I hid the third in the support section under the bridge. For the actual lights I use technic bricks with technic pins to shine the light in the direction that I want. Lastly, the lamp posts are a kit found at Lifelites. It has a battery and a switch on the bottom of the post that can fit inside a Lego piece. The downside to the lamp is that it is not very powerful and does not last long or very bright. I have done a lot of reading and experimenting on how to do lighting in the past to try to get it right, and I am still learning. Hope this helps...See pictures below.

August 13, 20169 yr Picked up an Ecto to add to the firehouse. It looks great in front of it. It won't quite back in all the way because of the desk but I want it sticking out a bit anyways. Why have it hidden away, it looks fantastic pulling out. I'll be selling or trading the figs as I don't need two sets.
August 13, 20169 yr Popular Post Whew. Don't try to build this in two days. The wife and kid were out of town, so I partied with the Sandcrawler.

I have an Ecto I haven't gotten to, but don't have the HQ yet I am doing a vendor table at a toy/comic/cosplay con next weekend, hopefully I'll sell enough to justify the HQ. Pic is just the NISB sets I'm taking
August 14, 20169 yr Popular Post I also used lifelites on the Porsche pics posted above. I have also used the product on the Arocs (42043) and other models (the last one is Lord Business attacking MOCpages servers.... those who know MOCpages.com get what I mean ) http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/426394
