Two of our more popular threads are "What LEGO set(s) did you buy today?" and "What LEGO set(s) did you sell today?" These threads are filled with great information. But we all know LEGO bricks are about "building" LEGO sets and models, so why shouldn't we talk about it on this site as well? I mean, many LEGO sets that are fantastic builds are also investment winners, so why shouldn't people share some of their experiences of build and set quality that might affect LEGO set values, either positively or negatively? Let us know what you built today and your overall thoughts on the set. Don't forget to leave more in depth reviews in our LEGO SET REVIEWS section...

It will be next to the Palace Cinema. I'm going to have a doorway between the theaters. Maybe hang a curtain between them.

After some sore fingertips, completed this yesterday.  Final product looks great!

 

After work me and my son had creator session with set 10698

Built two mocs using only parts from set 10698. I use moc in the lightest sense of the word as they wasn't really 'my own creation' as I found the initial guide on web, regardless I think they looked pretty cool!!

Finally! After a week of building this from bulk- putting the finishing touches on this bad boy .

Finally put together the GE I bought last year as a partial set in a bulk lot on eBay for cheap.

I loved this build so much more than the Fire Brigade. It was pretty fun. Not sure if it's because it's a corner building, or feels more regal. But it just looks pretty cool.

I'm a bigger LEGO fan than I am a Star Wars fan so most of my build have been in the Creator line. However the Star Wars UCS line does have some of the largest and most interesting builds so I knew eventually I would get there. Since I came out of my dark ages a year and a half ago, I've always thought the UCS Imperial Shuttle 10212 was one of the most accurate and interesting looking Star Wars models and wanted to get one. 

To that end, for the past 3 months I've been slowly bricklinking 10212, 10182, and 10189. All original parts and color in new condition except where it didn't make sense (e.g. stud hole vs no stud hole). All new condition except, again, where it didn't make sense due to price or availability. I can give more specifics if anyone is interested but in short I sourced all three for about $1,400 plus ~$40,000 in unpaid time .

This week in the evenings I built 10212...

In the end I was just as impressed as I thought I would be. Really enjoyed the build and the final result! 

 

 

Built this last week with the 6 year old. Pretty happy with how it turned out...enjoyable build, several play features and a ton of mini figs...I really like the end result.

I really liked this set more than I would have imagined after I've built it.

Only thing I really found tricky during was to get the clock right. So like you I found the best result I could achieve was putting it shortly before or after midnight.

Finished an incompleted Sopwith I found in CL. Bought it for $30 but it was missing a few unique pieces so after everything said and done, it's closer to $45.

Really like the design. It's bigger than I thought and looks good even without a smooth plane wing. However, I understand the limited appeal and that's why it's dropping in value. Great for personal build.

This one was the centerpiece of my childhood collection. Rebuilt it so many times I could probably do it blindfolded.

BEST. SET. EVER.

Just finished building the Simpsons House tonight, thoroughly enjoyable throughout. In my opinion not quite a fun as the Kwik-E-Mart, but a set full of detail and if you are a fan of the show I'm sure you will also enjoy.

Just finished lighting up my Palace Cinema. Still need to light the street lamp but that requires a drill bit I didn't have handy.

If you do not want to drill, you could use something like this for your lamp (it is not the brightest, but it works)...http://lifelites.com/products/3472.

My son wanted some police stuff, so we busted out a 60047 tonight. Little does he know how much police stuff I have stashed away.

Finished the Sydney Opera House to go along with the two English landmarks.  It was a fun build, much better than I thought it would be, and it looks much more impressive than I had thought. It's a really sturdy build too.  Highly recommended.

Thank you. I went back to basics and got some low brightness LEDs and complimentary resistors from the local electronics store and soldered them together. Then used some low gauge copper wire to run them through to an old 6V Nokia mobile charger. The beauty of it is that there's still enough spare juice in that single charger to run a couple more modular buildings off it.

Thank you. I'm thinking of bricklinking a few of those pieces to make a whole bunch of low intensity street lamps. Saves money and I can use a really fine copper wire that I can run under the street tiles.

Well...I finally found all the pieces...a couple off color but still looks amazing I think. It took my son and I 7 hours with 3 slight rebuilds until we got the balance right. Yes, it is tricky getting it to stand! Let me know what you all think. #legodad
