June 27, 20169 yr For such a huge modular, it doesn't look like all that many parts all laid out like that. Interesting. And what's the deal with that pink reddish brown arch? Impurities I tell ye! Nice work.
June 27, 20169 yr Popular Post Finally got around to building (and photographing) 10197 Fire Brigade. It was the first modular I ever constructed. I enjoyed it, but, it wasn't as life changing as I expected. I'm in the process of tearing it down so I can sell it, lol. But I am looking forward to building others in the series.
June 27, 20169 yr I've built all of the modulars at least twice. Cafe Corner and Fire Brigade are my least favorites. IMO Building them feels much more like a chore; you started at the bottom and should enjoy the others more.
June 27, 20169 yr Popular Post Built Big Ben and added lights from Brick Stuff. What a slick addition to the model - I added two white LEDs in the top of the tower, and two green LEDs behind the colonnade above the four sided clock. Next step is to illuminate the facade and light the Tower Bridge displayed next to it. For those builders and MOCers that have thought about diving into lighting, you will not be disappointed.

Very nice, you rock!

June 28, 20169 yr Grand Emporium is an excellent set. Every collection should have one. Especially when I start to get rid of some...
June 28, 20169 yr Popular Post Gave my husband a Grievous constraction 75112 for his birthday today. I had no idea how large it would be. I may never feel safe again. He is quite menacing.
June 28, 20169 yr Popular Post Big Ben in its new home. Very tedious build which is worth it at the end.

June 29, 20169 yr Nope. Technic pins have hardened my fingers. Speaking of Technic, if the new Porche was motorized (like 42030 Volvo Wheel Loader), even for higher cost than current RRP, I'd buy/build it in a heartbeat. After watching Jangbrick's video review - I was amazed at the complexity!

June 29, 20169 yr Hulk, just because it doesn't fit your own personal definition of what a helicopter is, doesn't mean it isn't still a helicopter.
June 30, 20169 yr Built the new Ghostbusters Ecto-1. From a build perspective, it's a nicer build than the original set. Pretty sharp too. http://imgur.com/a/bLzp3
July 2, 20169 yr I built Super Hero airport battle and Encounter on Jakku. I've got Vader's TIE vs A-Wing queued up. Looking at my stash of stuff to build for reviews, I don't have time now for Ewok Village, I don't really have enthusiasm for 75138 Hoth Attack, Kanan's Speeder Bike, Homing Spider Droid or Batboat harbor pursuit. We'll see what I get around to building.
July 2, 20169 yr Finally gave my 6 year old the last of the figures he needed to complete his set...then built the stand out of a few random pcs from a recent bulk purchase. Also built changing seasons which I will photograph and share at some point soon.
July 3, 20169 yr Popular Post Today was a special build, as last year I retrieved all my childhood LEGO from my parent's place. And since then have been sorting it here and there. Well I finally finished sorting and it was time to inventory and build a set :D! Pulling parts according to the inventory list (Peeron) Building the 6879 Blizzard Baron from the Ice Planet 2002 space theme (notice the LEGO man supervising as they do in all my builds). So 1st set is 100% complete and ready for cleaning, bunches more to go! I have to say I have built many sets from my childhood in recent years and while they have been nostalgic and fun. This is a whole new level when you are handling the very same bricks that occupied countless hours of your childhood. Its a powerful feeling almost like handling sacred relics from the past. It strikes me on such a deep level that these bricks I loved through the 1990's are still going strong and a brand new brick would seamlessly fit anywhere on this set. A true testament to the outstanding power of LEGO and the wonderful worlds it creates. I am so very thankful to have most of my childhood LEGO intact and that neither me nor my parents ever got rid of these precious bricks during my ~12 years in the dark ages.
July 3, 20169 yr the forum system allows me one "like", otherwise I'd give you 9 extra likes for the Lego from childhood and 1 extra for the Yuengling
July 3, 20169 yr Popular Post I've been pretty sick lately. So I had some time on my hands in between naps to finish off a couple of sets. It really picked my spirits up and kept my mind off the pain! Thank you Lego!! #LegoDad

July 3, 20169 yr Built a set with my daughter for the first time, she found it quite complicated and was getting a bit frustrated with the process. Who would have known that an 18 month would get angry trying to put the pieces of Duplo Learn to Count Train together.
