Two of our more popular threads are "What LEGO set(s) did you buy today?" and "What LEGO set(s) did you sell today?" These threads are filled with great information. But we all know LEGO bricks are about "building" LEGO sets and models, so why shouldn't we talk about it on this site as well? I mean, many LEGO sets that are fantastic builds are also investment winners, so why shouldn't people share some of their experiences of build and set quality that might affect LEGO set values, either positively or negatively? Let us know what you built today and your overall thoughts on the set. Don't forget to leave more in depth reviews in our LEGO SET REVIEWS section...

The Ewok Village set never really interested me much.  After all its a scene playset that just seemed a bit too bitty for my liking.

Having built it I'm really glad I ran out of sets because it's fantastic.  Ok most of the build seems to be building trees but it never seems repetitive, as each element has different hidden features. There's plenty of scenes from the film included and it does actually feel like one model not a bunch of pieces (cough assault on hoth cough). It now sits proudly on a shelf with my Tydirium Shuttle and an AT-ST.

If you're a star wars UCS fan but haven't really fancied this set go get yourself one before its too late.

I really need to open and build one of mine. If the price goes up, I will be less likely to build it. My only wait is we're moving across the country in a few months and it will be harder pack up built. Decisions decisions...

You could just cut the seals and then open the "1"-bags to build the speeder bike and the catapult. Both would be easy to store with the rest of the sealed bags inside the box for easy transport. Also, the set would be at least partly used and therefore your resistance to building it later on might be lessened.

That is a great idea. I will do that. My 5 year old has done this with my temple of airjitzu (should have put that one up but he had never done that before) 

guess I should have learned from him. 

Finally I bricklinked 10182 cafe corner!!!

So happy about it! Substitute a few bricks, but I'm pretty happy with the final product. Got into Lego collecting too late, missed a lot of good sets including this. Thanks for bricklink, saved me a lot of money.

Finally finished the 10178 Motorized At-at that I picked up used the other day for $40.  It was our first At-At build and our first build of any Lego motorized set, so it was a hit with the kids.  I think it is my favorite SW set that I have built thus far.

That is a fun build, I've done it a couple times, always a hit with the kids seeing it walk.

Favourite modular built so far (Vs GE and PC) but have a BB and DO ready to go.   
This thing is never going to retire.

Built this over the last week. Only my second Technic build so far. I really do enjoy how well the gears, chains and different linking elements work in congruence with one another. Although the builds aren't quite as enjoyable as standard sets the end results are really intriguing. (Street Motorcycle 42036) I opted for the Retro Bike build and there are ample pcs left over but it still looks bad a$$.

Got this set on its way from TRU I'll also be opting for the second build rather than the main race bike build.  Lots of MOC bikes use this set too.

Finally built my saved copy of the Mos Eisley Cantina. Glad I resisted the temptation to sell it lol

You should do build reviews! With your photography skills combined those would be dy-no-mite

Appreciate the kind words @Phil B. I really enjoy (now) both photography & Lego. Since my 3rd boy, it's been hard to get out and shoot. However, now I can build, then shoot and do it all in my house, and although it's not landscape photography it's still great marco work.  As far as reviews, I would like to do that, but again, time isn't quite something I have at the moment. I could certainly take the shots required but to compile it all would require a bit of monetization to make it worth it...It wouldn't be super difficult, it would just require loads of time (like anything else worth having or investing in). I tried a little with my photography too, let's just say for now, my day job, although not as much fun, still pays the bills.

I think those kind of shots would work best in a coffee table book. Maybe dk would be interested.

Third component of 5526 Skyline

Anyone who builds Technic MOC supercars will know about this ICARUS Supercar.  It was so much fun to build this car by the great Madoca1977.

This supercar has 4 Large motors propelling it, a servo motor for steering and two lights and two LiPo batteries for power.  I have substituted the Sbricks in the original build with two V2 receivers and a pole reverser so I can use only one IR receiver.

This supercar looks amazing at every angle which is partly due to Madoca1977's crazy use of angled panels.  It was tricky to assemble it with instructions, so the upmost respect to someone who can imagine, design and assemble models of this complexity!

Finally far enough with cleaning my childhood collection to try piecing a few smaller space sets together. Next up, castle-building!

Unfortunately most of my space minifigures did not survive (or were stolen/lost by my sisters). I have most of my castle and pirate theme minifigures, but the space were the oldest and played with the hardest/most irresponsibly. Once I see who survived I'll put up more pictures.

Didn't start the castles because I went hunting, but I had to make some progress. Here it is:

On Tuesday I was traveling for work and I went to the Orlando Lego store. I picked up the Mini Cooper and finished it that night in about 3 hours. Tonight when I got home I finish off my VW T1 Van, which I started a couple weeks ago. Similar number of parts between the two, with drastically different build times. Both are awesome with great details. My wife loves the Mini's picnic set.

Finally got around to building part of the $15 bag I got on CL. Midi-MF is short 9 pieces and Y-Wing is short ~15 and the minifigures except R2. Do I sell or keep the MF?
