Wow. I love it. So much so I'm singing, "Winner, winner, chicken dinner!" But I also loved Battle of Alamut. Nah, still think this will be a big winner.

Hope the Grand Hotel and taxi signs are printed but not getting my hopes up.

Not getting my hopes up either. Every Friends set my daughter and I have built has had lots of stickers. But this grand Hotel looks like a definite winner.

The Grand Hotel sign is certainly a sticker and the slight lopsidedness on the Taxi one implies it too is a sticker.

So, is Friends going to have 2 big sets, or is the Mall leaving us early?

I'm happy to see the Heartlake theme continued. All the jungle stuff had me thinking it may be over.

This is frikken huge. It reminds me of AA, which was an exclusive. Friends must be really a hit if LEGO releases stuff like this.

This looks more along the size of Olivia's House, not the mall. My guess would be a $70 price. The doorman minifigure looks cool.

I think it's bigger than Olivia's house, more detail, plus the accessories, plus the vehicle.  It's a $110 - $120 set.

This set looks fairly easy to modify into a modular building.

What's with using black bricks in Friends line ?  Shouldn't that piano be bright purple or bright green or something ?

Yeah, looking at it again it is bigger.  I thought it was just a four module build like OH, but the tower in the back is another 2+, along the lines of the mall.

Great link. I will be buying a lot of this. I think the question of whether this and Heartlake Mall exist at the same time is a good one. I am guessing we will see the mall disappear from retail shelves but remain online for quite a bit of time.

Normally I have less than zero interest in anything from the Friends lineup. But I do want to create a custom modular building at some point, and it seems like 2 of these could make a very, very nice custom modular. What's the likelihood of being able to get these at any significant discount during its lifespan? (In other words, it's not an exclusive, is it?)

Walmart clearance and/or TRU coupon stacking seem like the best shot based on the Mall and other similar sets

And on topic: any house that doesn't even have a back wall feels - how should I put it - incomplete? It would be so much better to make this modular-style. But I guess play-value has priority for this line - for a good reason. Maybe combining two could give you a nice hotel.
