Bulk Baseplates

For those with large city's landscapes etc... Baseplates have not taken a huge jump in pricing. I need a lot of baseplates. Like 30-40. What is the best source, does anyone use non, lego baseplates? 

 

The idea of dropping crazy money just on baseplates eeks me.
