71007 - Minifigures - Series 12

Next year looks like we may not be getting a Series 12 at all until possibly 2015 seeing how the norm is three series' in one year and the schedule appears to be The Lego Movie, The Simpsons, and Minifigures Online. However, The Brick Fan posted an article from Brick Fanatics stating Series 12 could be coming out by early October which would put The Simpsons and Minifigures Online series being released very close to one another unless the Minifigures Online series is Series 12.

A lot of rumors in the mill still at this point but I am curious about what characters will come out from the Minifigures Online series. It would stand to reason that the Minifigures Online series is Series 12 on the part that all the characters for the game are taken from the entire Collectable Minifigures line but then again a special series created from out of the game to help promote it makes sense just as well.

Either way, next year will be a tiring one for smooshers and their aching hands. Also I heard about a potential candidate for the Minifigures Online series could be a naval blue coat captain or some other seafaring character from the Pirate days.

Edit:

Looks like we shall be getting a straight up Series 12 this year. Whether or not the characters are somewhat inspired by the Minifigures Online game remains to be seen literally but we should know in due time as always. Anyway, here is the list for Series 12.

Wizard

Hun Warrior

Fairytale Princess

Video Game Guy

Battle Goddess

Space Miner

Lifeguard

Prospector

Jester

Dino Tracker

Pizza Delivery Guy

Rock Star

Swashbuckler

Piggy Guy

Genie Girl

Spooky Girl

License theme I can stomach $4 but most of these are using the same molds.  We can get polys for $4 so I hope those all don't go to $5.

Right, I'm growing tired of these same sort of characters...Vikings, clowns, spacemen...enough already.  Very boring.  The Simpsons and The LEGO Movie were a breath of fresh air.  I want some cool themed CMFs...Give me a STAR WARS CMF.  Harry Potter.  Atlantis.  CITY.  Anything...LOL

that would be make it worth the $4 maybe even a monster series

Disney characters CMF.  There. Instant :money:

ETA: there are so many of them, these can be released in multiple series / waves.  Perhaps when they do $5 CMF packs in a couple of years :P

Gotta have the guitar guy. Others are not tweaking my fancy.

I always said there should be a Zombies series.

You could do series based on countries.

Hanna Barbera characters CMF series

Pokemon CMF

This thread starts to look like the "what theme you want as LEGO" thread :D

Maybe somebody from LEGO will read it and get some ideas. $4 for another spaceman is just a waste.

I have a hard time seeing moms and dads picking these up at $4 especially after their kids open the packs and realize they got the one figure they didn't want :)

As you stated earlier, why would you buy a CMF when you can buy a poly bag for $4 in many cases?

Yeah I am wondering if Lego really did their market research on this price hike. It made total sense for the Simpsons. And I think the Movie ones could have easily sold for that. but otherwise, they just aren't worth it I think.

I definitely hear what you guys are saying, hopefully Lego doesn`t raise the price in other places as well, but the truth is that these will still sell very well regardless. Is the price steep? Yes. But most people aren`t going to care. At least not enough to make a difference. Lego will still makes lots of money in sales, and these will still maintain their popularity. Wonder if in a couple years they will hit $4.99.

Well I will still buy Goddess, Hun Warriors and Wizards(all i can get!)..... and 2 Princesses

For rest I could not care less, but that Hun warrior helmet will be amazing for my ''barbarian'' MOCs assaulting my new mine!

I made mention of that comparison before back when we saw the confirmed pricing for The Simpsons minifigures. Granted that is a licensed property, each character needed a brand new complete mold for their respective head, and the TV show impressively continues to be popular after numerous years. However for all intents and purposes to the general public, the mystery blind packs are exactly that so the price increase was a bit of a blow.

I realize there are around six new molded pieces at least in this Series 12 to go with the unique printing of each but trying to continue the licensed pricing of the prior series does not hold. Plus Lego will more than likely use these new parts in other sets down the road anyway like so many other ones introduced from the Collectable Minifigures. Not all but most do usually and sometimes with a few alterations.

I may be the one person that would like to amass a small army of Space Miners to go with all the other explorers in my collection, and maybe Lego should check out my list of ideas. ;)

I like them, but there doesn't seem to be any standouts.  I'll definitely be passing with the price as well...

I love these, much better than boring Simpsons that have no place in my lego city or in the lego world period. I wouldn't have paid a dollar a piece for simpsons cmfs but ill pay the 3.99 for these.

Look at the banner that came up when I did a Lego search on Target just now. There's the Series 9 Plumber then Series 12 Gamer and Princess.

I might just buy one set and be done with it.  $4 is too much for a single non licensed fig. Shame on lego :beee:

i agree, though it might be a plus for some collectors, there might be more to go around

Looks good, I'll buy one of each, perhaps a few extra Hun Warriors, Athena's, and Musketeers.

my famly collects them my son, my wife and myself each want diffrent ones, though we are having a hard time justifying the price tag

Especially when the accessories don't contain a single new mold.  I'll get one of each, and my son will want some, but I don't see any "can't miss" investment figure in this series like the Romans and Spartans of the past.  The Hun and Goddess will be sought after, maybe the Musketeer guy.
