I haven't seen much discussion of the new IDEAS Birds set (Jan, '15) yet...obvioulsy we don't have "hands-on" time, but I'd like to know what people think. I mean, it's smart of LEGO to try to corner the ornithologist/AFOL demographic (who wouldn't?!?), but curious to hear the community's thoughts for short and long term investment.

 

Personally, I'll buy it because it's IDEAS and I enjoy that line...I'm less certain of hoarding it for investment though.

That is what it has shown me for last few hours as well. just third party sellers.. 

I'd say keep checking back. I grabbed 2 during this back and forth.

Here in France, there was a pike jst after it retired but for few months there is no increase anymore  of the price.

I was quite excited at the beginning about the potential of this set but finally it turns out to be disappointing.

Just my opinion.

Patience, look at Ebay listings and very few are outside the UK and Germany, prices starting at 85 euros with a weakening pound.

This is a 120-150 euro set like the Delorean, just a question of time.

I've got a local store with 3 left in stock at $44.95 + 6% sales tax. I would also get back 10% store credit to use later. I already have 6 of these at a lower buy in. Should I go grab em tomorrow? What does the hoard say?

Go get em.  I got 7 more today, it's a chance to buy a retired set that has a great set and box design.
