I just saw this in the list of new models for 2015 and am already drooling.

Apparently it is a summer release - anyone got any info about pieces, size, pricing?

This could be a really iconic set if it is well executed.

Looks like the f40 is available for "pre order" at LEGO Shop at Home - I know I am in the very small percent of people who are going to order one today.  After reading a review posted in this thread t

I like this set....price?...not so much...TLG paid ton of money for that official golographic sticker....and now, 10248 in stock LEGO Shop at Home again.

I know it is not claiming to be limited the way the blue 4x4 crawler was limited to 10,000 numbered sets. That being said, does anyone have any idea how limited this set will be, or if it is even limited at all? Thanks for your time.

What makes you think this set is limited at all? Was it depicted in some kind of Lego catalogue?

No, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it. I sure was caught up short by the blue 4x4 crawler (they all sold out in like 2 days) so I don't want that to happen again. As I said, I don't believe it is numbered but I am wondering if it is limited in some broader way (i.e. more limited than a normal Lego set that is sold everywhere).

I think you answered your own question there

Wow. This MOC made in 2011 is impressive don't you think?

That looks suspiciously familiar.... Wow LEGO didn't have time to design a new winter set or a new vehicle this year. :jester:

When i see the pictures i shocked!! That is copy paste. I think Lego must apologize from the first designer because they are not similar they are same.

Looking at LEGO Shop at Home tonight, I noticed there is a limit of 2 on this set.  5 on the Mini Cooper and the Volkswagen.  Seems kinda weird.  Of course that means nothing.

Not weird at all. Limited availability of a recently released exclusive vs two of the most commonly available "exclusives".  If anything this is far too normal for LEGO Shop at Home

I think it's just 'cause it's new. They probably don't wanna run out like every other set...

If you compare them closely, the pieces they used are a lot different, and there are some very different details like the interior and back windows. Maybe they look similar because they are based on the same car.

Agree.

I recently built the 10248 Ferrari F40 and I do agree that while the MOC from 2011 and this official LEGO set share resemblances, they also have many differences. Maybe the LEGO designer took some inspiration from that MOC, but he definitely made the build his own with different choices for building techniques.

What strikes me is the accurate representation. With all due respect to the 2011 MOC, this one is much more accurate. Great display set.

Nice review, @Neosphinx! I share your feelings and conclusions about this excellent model.

Just got one of these to build. Stunned at how small the box is. Love the smaller boxes. Can't wait to build.

By... how much ?

Still 84,99€ here in France since day one.

The F40 has been priced at €89,99 in The Netherlands since the release. I got one last September from LEGO Shop at Home, but I hope it won't stay exclusive much longer and start to show up at regular toy stores / 3rd party Lego stores, where it will be eligible for sales and discounts.

Guys, I checked the weight of my unopened 10248 received from Target last week and measured 1364gr. Bricklink says 1322gr. Can someone confirm the weight of one or more of their unopened boxes? I looked at the seals of mine and they look untouched ... BTW, pounds and ounces weight is 3lbs 0.1oz so if someone has imperial measurements that's great too ... Seal code 46R5.
