Anyone know what the deal is with this set? My local Fred Meyer had tons of them over the summer, I just found a straggler the other day. Did they sell elsewhere in the US? Not even listed on LEGO Shop at Home in the US, only overseas. I'm not sure if average US buyer will even know they are available down the road. Selling for about double RRP on Amazon and only a few on eBay.

 

I will admit to being completely biased toward loving random rare stuff like this.

These were part of that 40% off sale and 15% off shopping pass deal. Didn't pick any up though...probably should have seeing how the creative towers are moving for double the black friday price.

generally all these type products do well over here.  Not great on conversions but think that was $23 US which would be a great price.  They are retired and sell well over here.

I got a few last Black Friday I think they were $20 at Fred Meyer.  I didnt have much luck with them as they are big and bulky to ship not like the CT but still not fun.  I was getting only $40 on CL and maybe $50 on the bay.  I ended up giving my kids the last 2.

Thanks wsuskee, I can see how they would be a pain to ship unless the box can be flattened or without the box.
