In the Star Wars universe and EU, I'm sure they have some hi-tech train system for transportation, so the question is... Would it work to bring one as a LEGO set?

I don't even care if it's canon or not, this would be awesome. A power functions train in some sort of a space city setup would be awesome.

 

While we're at it, how about a Star Wars modular. :-)

I think it would work if it was done well. It would be cool to have a different looking train available. Plus I always welcome new stuff rather than remakes of TIEs, Falcons, and X-wings.

I'd love an Imperial Munitions Train. Sort of like the one at the end of the movie Red Dawn(1984). Except carrying Imperial hardware.

though really using a different track type would probably be a negative.  maybe a visually different track, that is still compatible with power functions trains.

would be cool to use clear pieces for track to make the train cars appear to float.

They ran up & down the Malevolence (yes, it was a very big ship).

 

Ok, wait for it..wait for it!  Magnetic track so it DOES float.

Main magnets to hold it off the track and rotating ones that come down at an angle at push by polar oposites. Rotating ones should be stronger
