LEGOLAND FL/CA - Inventory Report/Questions

Hi- I am new around here, mainly a lego collector for my son and I for sets we want. I like to buy sets on sale more than anything when I find them...however have enjoyed reading recent posts about TH, GE, HH etc.

The thrill of the chase is so exciting indeed.

Today I went to Legoland Florida with my family, here is a synopsis of some of their inventory:

HH- in stock but has its own place behind the counter, very low supply.

TH- tons of them in every store, lots of stock per employee.

SC- had two in the stores only- great seller for British visitors, we're expecting many more to come

T1- tons

Tumbler- tons, slow seller (prob because of price)

GE ( I think I have that abbreviation right)- tons

HE- tons

Mersk- I counted 10

The lego employe I spoke to for a while ( we met most, my son was mini fig swapping all day) was a manager and we discussed business for a little bit. The big sets are slow sellers as most people who come are reluctant to buy a big set, because of the pricing and the large box for traveling home with. He also said that as long as a product was not retired, Legolands In general will have it, they are committed to carrying every product until it is retired- so as not to disappoint any customer and giving everyone the opportunity to purchase something that they want...

With that being said- the hint was that HH was about to be retired first out of the sets mentioned, it had lost shelf space and they were placing behind the counter to actively clear their stock. He thought SC wouldn't retire anytime soon, he hoped it wouldn't as it was a great product for military enthusiasts and Brits.

Legoland does not honor VIP and outs no limits on quantities.

Interesting to point out that there were no Delorians, Exo Suits or RI's, when I asked he said he will get more in, the price point is so good that they sell really fast and in large quantities.

All this info may have been covered elsewhere, I resisted the urge to buy anything my friend however got 2 TH's, 3 SC's, 2 HH',s with no sales tax and shipping to DC. My son raked up on mixels and my daughter mini figs- my wife was in shock that I did not buy any more than that.

Thanks for this great resource, I love this website, may the lego gods be good to you all.!

Cheers

Headed to Legoland Florida next week for the first time. We've been to Legoland California a few times but never to Florida.  Any interesting finds in the past few weeks?  Any suggestions for us?  We are flying so we are limited to what we can carry but I understand they will ship if you spend enough.

Thanks!!

I went there a couple of weeks ago. Nothing special, the big shop was a bit of a let down to me. The "rarest" one there was Xwing 10240.

Some prices have been marked up above MSRP, but I don't remember which one.

I don't remember seeing Summer Riding Camp at all. Only Sunshine Ranch 41039

Edit: sorry I didn't notice pstebbing's post was 3 months ago LOL

Haha tell me about it! I clicked on the thread and that was the post that came up. Almost got ready to drive there and get HH and TH till I read the date!!

Sorry to get your hopes up!  I am hoping for good things and I will be sure to report back if I find anything amazing.

Thanks!

Not your fault, just me for not reading properly! I am trying to go back there if only to check the park out. Went on opening weekend and, as expected, it was packed. Plus, it rained lol

Was there Friday before Easter. Couple red fives, tower of orthancs, lots of slave 1s and tumblers. Picked up couple painting eggs and romantic dinners, there were lots of both. Be sure to bring mini figures to trade with citizens, they can't say no and if you have good trades they keep better figs in their pockets. Most mini figs they trade are from recent cmf series. Some have custom name tags for their minifigs. One citizen had a mini millennium falcon, another a cool Chima head. Couldn't convince lady to trade for the Harry Potter wanted posters she had on her name tag. You can even trade with parking fee booth person, kids got a kick out of that. Unfortunately I brought better mini figures with me than they had to trade, and I brought some chumps. Most of us brickpickers will have this issue. Great rides for lil kids, fun had by all.

Thanks, steakyboy. I didn't think about trading minifigs! We got a ton in a craigslist deal a few months ago that would be perfect for trading.

Hi everyone,

Back from Florida and just wanted to share what we saw at Legoland Florida.  Series 2 Mixels were everywhere and were buy 2 get one free.  They had giant bins full of all Series 2, with brown being the most plentiful.  Simpsons minifigs were also included in the buy 2 get 1 free sale.

No Pet Shops anywhere (including Downtown Disney Lego Store) but Legoland did have a few Palace Cinemas and Parisian Restaurants. Lots of Slave 1s and Tumblers but can't recall seeing any Red 5s.  They still had tons of PEE and Valentine's Day Dinners.

Nothing else that sticks out in my mind.  We had fun and there were no waits on any rides while we were there on Sunday.

I'll be going to Legoland Florida on May 4th.  Hoping there will be a special May the 4th be with you deal going on there.  Does anyone know if there are any exclusive items to Legoland that might be worth investing in?

Hello all!

For those of you who have been to Legoland Orlando, we are planning a trip to Universal Orlando this summer, and had a couple questions.

1. While we have a couple of the buy one, get one free admission vouchers, would my 17 and 15 year old kids enjoy Legoland if we decided to go for a day, or does it skew too young? We are all Lego fans, but they obviously like an engaging theme park as well.

2. Do you have to have park admission to access the large gift shop/store that's onsite?

They are definitely too young, but if they are big fans, it may be worth it to check out at least once.

You need to have the park tickets to buy at the shops, but my recent visits did not find anything useful. I'd rather order from Lego directly.

BTW vehicle parking is $17 and up.

Ouch. Thanks much for the feedback! I think this answers my questions, and I'll stick to the Downtown Disney store when I'm there.

I don't know if LL Florida does this, but at LL California, you can buy an admission ticket to go in and shop, and as long as you exit the park within an hour, you'll get a refund.  They call it a shopper's pass.  If you spend $20, you get your $15 parking fee back as well.

I plan to go to Legoland here in a few days, but we'll be taking the kids and one big kid, of course.

Yes they do it there as well

Bring mini figures to trade with the "citizens" they can't say no, but if you are a collector, you'll have better figures than them. You can even trade with the parking booth attendants. Sometimes citizens have minis in their pockets and you can ask too. Age wise, my 9 year old liked it, my 6 and 4 yr old loved it, but lots geared toward younger and if kids are teens they will be pretty bored. Heart lake opens soon. Lots of purple and green walls were up for construction when we went.

Hello Guys,

just went before 2 weeks to the Legoland Bilkund, and clean out the R2's. It a was amazing and stupid situation ;). Four adults with 13 R2's on the cash counter. People looked and thought stupid germans or anything else. It was a thrill! :)

You four probably had the biggest smiles in the park. Nicely done.

Best thing about it, knowing, that this set is still EOL, and we grabbed it for retail price, yeah :)! This was a business without any risk!! And the biggest Lego Store in the world is very lovely, only limit was the credit card :/.

Anyone notice when is the best time to go shop in Legoland? Is January the best time of the year to destroy the credit cards with end of quarter/year sales?

I'm planning on taking the kids to LEGOLAND CA in early October. Are there any park exclusives I should be on the lookout for?
