November 6, 201411 yr I have been into the LEGO investing game for about a year now. Mostly impart to all the good deals shown here I have a nice stash going. I definetly want to move some sets I aquired at deep discount this year to recoup some money for future investing. Question is when is the right time to list on ebay. For Black Friday? after Cyber Monday? 2 weeks before the 25th? When does the mad dash for desperate parents begin!? Thanks for any insight on the matter, hopefully we all make a Scrooge worthy profit margin this holiday.
November 6, 201411 yr now. Seriously, list what you have at semi-crazy prices, you can always discount it in a month.
November 6, 201411 yr If it's not listed it won't sell. That's my strategy. If you want to sell something list it now. It very well could sell before the big rush.
November 6, 201411 yr My sales spiked Nov 1st. Stores all have their gift catalogs out, trees in the displays. People go home and shop for what they saw in store.
November 6, 201411 yr List now and set your BIN prices at your target price. Two times your cost or whatever you are expecting depending if it's a flip or a long term investment. Monitor the prices daily and adjust up or down depending on how it goes.
November 6, 201411 yr I would wait until after Cyber Monday. Once parents find out they couldn't buy what they planned they will scramble to the internet. That being said I don't plan on selling much of anything this year, just going to let my stock ferment for a while.
November 6, 201411 yr I agree with Young_gun....my philosophy is you can't sell it if it isn't listed. Anticipate pricing, adjust accordingly, then sit back and watch your bobber. The season is already hot and heavy, so get busy!
November 6, 201411 yr Any time of year will get sales if you price to sell. For your run of the mill LEGO sets Xmas is good for volume but you must price more competitively to compensate for the huge spike in listings as well.
November 6, 201411 yr Now - I have dozens of sets boxed up and on ebay at the price I want. May take two or three runs to get the price I want but many of the sets are from 2000 to 2006 so I expect I just have to find that one right person to make the sale.
November 20, 201411 yr I am thinking about starting a few 7 or 5 day auctions to unload some slow stuff. Would Cyber Sunday/Monday be the best day to end them? If not which day? And finally what duration is most attractive? I have 0 experience with auctions. Lol

If its something that just sells poorly I'd still sell it fixed price as your auction might not go for much. I used to end a lot on thanksgiving as most people were home and bored at night but now with stores opening the past few years i avoid that. Pretty much any day is fine. I spread it out. Generally Fridays i sell the least as most people seem to be out. Ive studied days, times and researched terapeak and it all just comes down to whose watching that item when it ends. You'll find best days and blocks of time but honestly your item might not follow that trend or it could do better. Part of the fun of auctions.
