So, worth a post here, board seems to be dead today

 

Is there any current sets out there that are going to give me a nice brick/$$$ ratio for just building lego? the starter/builder boxes seem rather lame. I raided my old stash of Lego from my parents house and it has a bunch of 2x4 bricks, cloudy windows and not a lot of cool stuff like they have now.

 

I sold off all the minifigs for 2x the black gate and am building the double black gate set up, but are there any other sets out there that just have a lot of bricks? Using the hobbit/LOTR as an example, other than Helms deep, and maybe the black gate, the sets seem to run high on the minifigs, and you almost need to get 2-3 of each set to build anything a decent size

Last year the 650-piece brick box (forgot set number, sorry) was on sale for $15, that was 2.5 cents per piece.

The pink brick box (aiming at girls) was $7.5 for 224 pieces.
