Repair yellowed, but stickered, piece

Hey, just scored a really nice 6211 star destroyer for a bargain price. The ship was so huge that the then young kid never really played with it or the figures EXCEPT for the escape pod, which was apparently lost outside for awhile and turned a nice shade of yellow.

I have seen the cleaning techniques and was eager to give it a shot but then I realized the pod is stickered on the sides. Now I am unsure what my options are. Can it still be restored or should I just leave the pod as-is when I resell?

Buy the damaged parts from bricklink or wait to see if they turn up in a bulk used lot you my buy.

Unless you are already planning a Bricklink order I would just leave it as is. Just make sure that you note it in the description when you list it. A good pic of the yellowed pieces would be a good idea as well.

Send it back to Lego saying you just bought the set off eBay and when you opened the box is looked like this....

Seriously, leave it as is, people while snap up your garden dwelling, animal urine absorbing lego in heart beat.

When I used to sell on eBay, I always described used items in a slightly worse condition than they actually were so that buyers were pleasantly surprised and unlikely to complain.  Always be honest or more than.

I mean, in the grand scheme of things, it is two minor pieces that will be stores in the ship and out of sight anyways. Everything else, including directions, is tip-top.

If the stickers are still in relative flexible condition, you could try to ttake them off, clean the pieces and put them back on.

Never tried that before. Do I used domecdoet if secondary adhesive ?

I usually use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pritt to put them back on and it worked out fine

but I'm sure there are alot of people here more qualified to help you with restauration of stickers
