January 10, 201312 yr This minifig was all the rage because it was supposedly a SDCC exclusive........turns out I guess it wasn't. I don't know if people who were selling them were mis representing it or what but it was going for over 100 bucks during and after SDCC 10 (or maybe it was 11) anyways now its a promo item, who knows what happened with this mess.
January 11, 201312 yr It was from Toy Fair. Toy Fair stuff is hard to get so it can be very valuable if it never gets released anywhere else, like the Iron Man and Captain America minifigures. The Shirtless Mauls then made their way as promotional items at TRU and crushed their value.
January 11, 201312 yr Author Ahhh yes toy fair, my apologies. Not sure why I was thinking SDCC, were people selling them there also maybe?
January 11, 201312 yr They were in the Darth Maul Tin exclusive set, but their value was already gone before that.
January 11, 201312 yr Yea - this was an odd one. First, it was a super rare, super expensive minifig. Then some Overseas sellers had cases of them, who sold them by the hundreds. Then they were available here as a promo. At this point, they seem to be behaving like your typical SW minifig promo (which is good) & will likely follow the typical rise in value. It is a very cool minifig & the mass sellers seem to have dwindled. I would look to gather some of them whenever a particularly good deal is found.
