Those extras are actually equipped with GPS tracking devices.

As soon as you ship them, satelites relay the information to TLG servers where the reseller apprehention (aka ban hammer) team checks them daily.

Did they not have the winter set 1 of 2? Perhaps he gave you those instead?

No mention of the winter set. I was most surprised by the store exclusive as I understand they only make 300 of these per new store and it has been open a while. I will take it from the replies that this is not something I should expect to happen every time I buy a big set or sets!

lego is still a toy in some part of world while at others its a different commodity

It's great how in stores they give out all sorts of extras but at Lego Shop online they act like they're doing you a favor by selling to you.
