What large-scale model would you like to see next?

Featured Replies

We've had the likes of London Bridge, Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower... What landmark/building would you like to see made into a large scale model set?

While it would never happen because it would stir up much controversy...... I would love to see the World trade center. I would have to get rid of my boening dreamliner though, and that is not a tasteless joke....... I would never have the WTC and a large aircraft in my collection at the same time.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Colosseum

all good choices........however the opera house idea was ruined with the architecture model that recently came out like Aaron posted just a few mins ago

I was thinking colosseum too. And the architecture series version of the Sydney Opera House just doesn't do it justice. A series of Japanese castles would be fantastic..

I think that for as small as the set is they did a pretty good job with it. I personally think the Arc sets are cool but a lot of people do not like them because of their size.

I would like to see the seven wonders of the ancient world, They could come out with a new one each year, especially interesting would be the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The main problem I have with the architectural models is that a large part of most great buildings is their setting (peaks, rivers, lakes, flat plain, jungle, etc.) which can be difficult to incorporate into a reasonable model. Even the Taj Mahal is built next to a river. What would Machu Picchu or Neuschwanstein be without their setting? Maybe a religious monument theme (Angkor Wat, Pantheon, Karnak, Temple of the Jaguar, many Cathedrals like St. Basil's or Notre Dame, etc.). Or a real castle theme (Neuschwanstein, Hohenzollern, Edinburgh, Himeji, Forbidden City, etc). Or maybe just some random kool looking structures like Potala Palace in Tibet, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing and so on.

We had this topic before and my choice is St. Basil's Cathedral, all the colors on that building would look very cool in Lego. A Coliseum also would be cool, but only at about a $500 price point. I don't think a smaller one would do it justice.

I think the Kremlin would make a great addition. They should also redo some of the Architecture series as the larger models (although I am sure that wouldn't be a priority) As much as I would like to see a cathedral or some such, Lego won't do it. The Ancient Wonders idea is great if they do it on the same scale as the current models.

I would like to have large scale of Pisa leaning tower (around 3500pcs) Big Ben (around 4000pcs) Notre Dame Cathedral (around 5000pcs) Colosseum (around 5000pcs) Saint Basil's Cathedral (around 6000pcs) St. Peter's Basilica (around 5500pcs)
