Hi I have these from my childhood, many many years ago, please can somebody identify what sets they are from ?

I am sure there will be someone here to help figure that out

The first Star Wars vehicles?

Are you sure they are Lego?  I'm not doubting you, but they are like nothing I've seen.  I was searching Developer type sets.  Are they something programmable?  Remember about what year they would be from?

Anyone have an idea. Looks maybe non Lego.

Looking at the backside of that plate, it almost looks like the old waffle design before what is currently used.  If they are Lego, they are pretty old.

They are both battery operated and work

There is no lego marking on them, yet they are intended to be played with lego and they are of lego quality

On the underneath they are dated 1988

I have tried googling Tyco Toys Inc but nothing has come up

Well that settles that.  Thanks for the update, I was about to go mad trying to figure this thing out.

Ha, I have that piece in my "printed/stickered pieces bin. Will do some searching as I have no idea where it came from.
