headphone switch on Technic power function controller ?

Does anybody know why there is an headphone switch on the controller in the 8293 power function set ? :help:

    I have never even noticed that before. There has to be some set that used it? Unless maybe its from one of the other sets that uses the technic pieces? Or for "future use". lol.
