Bricktober Mini Modulars - 2014

Featured Replies

Wait until the new Mini Modular version comes out and watch the price explode.

I'm going to do exactly what Mr Mack says!

  •   What you're forgetting is that retail organizations (and large businesses in general) completely over-react to minor things. Your numbers make sense, and work on logic. A lot of business

  • It was not referring to you, but let me comment anyway. I was referring to people who clean a store out of any item. It brings negative attention to all of us. We do not all hit the maximum purchas

  • The bigger picture is these sets aren't about the money: They are priced at $19.99 specifically because they felt it would be a price higher than anyone would be willing to pay - they weren't meant to

I think its nuts to have 500 of these sets. That's 10,000 invested??? I can't imagine the upside being too good. I think whatever money to be made has been. I have 5 sets and I think that's too much. I'd rather put that kind of money elsewhere. For promos like this there is no guarantee that they will go up once the hype dies down.

Both the 10230 and these micro Modulars will benefit from newer versions. I agree with Mos Eisley, the 10230 was not a hoarded set and many will be disappointed they didn't buy more.

I really like the 10230. Makes me want to try and buy 20 of them even at the 150$ price

What would you invest in lego wise with 10,000$?

Hahahaha...I'm laughing only because I just sold another set while I was reading your post.

There crazy good sellers. Low cost easy to store and sell quick. Not a huge moneymaker but as long as its profitable i do not care. Thats another good thing about the site. It opens your eyes to everything out there.

What series are you guys selling that are selling so much? I can understand series 1 and maybe series 2 but no way series 3?

Bunch of sets of series 1. Some people stacked up on them. Which was pretty smart.

Yep, Series 1.  I picked up a couple sets back in the summer, before they disappeared.  Then, as they were disappearing from the stores (at least here in SoCal), I started picking up as many as I could, because I saw them going up up up.  Fortunately, I have family spread out enough that I was able to secure quite a few sets.

Local stock check: I had them search around the store today for any bricktober mini's left. All they could find were 2 Town Halls, so I bought 'em.  Not sure I want them, tho.

If anyone is looking for these my store has at least 4 complete sets available. PM me and I'd be more than happy to pick 'em up for you.

Why not buy for yourself... Just the town hall has sold a few times for 40 bucks the past few days.

I keep checking eBay to see how many new listings are being put up and it seems to be slowing down a bit, especially complete sets. I don't look at BIN so much. A couple more weeks to wait before I start to list. Hope to see it clear out even more.

I'm not seeing the value in these for even flipping. When the 40183 (town hall) has auctions ending @ $23 with free shipping (11/13), $32.99 with free shipping (11/12), and one @ $19.50 with bids on 11/12.

I'm not a believer in these. I think they're over priced to begin with. I'd rather pick up an AA from a B&M then purchase two complete sets of these for myself.

I'm waiting a couple more weeks. Right now it's flooded with singles that people got for free at TRU. I'm hoping in 2 weeks most of those have vanished and prices start to move up. I have sets of 4 and will either sell as sets or lots of single ones.

I don't believe these sets are going to do well in the long run.

The resellers have loaded up on them, thus pumping up enough supply to more than satisfy any (limited) future demands.  There are plenty of these sets left on the shelves.  The TRU stores that don't have left over, I suspect the investors have cleaned out.  So I question the future demands of these sets.

Not sure there will be demand. They didn't sell very well as a promo, and that's why there were so many leftovers. Everyone who has them has the same strategy: wait for the loose ones to sell, then sell complete sets. The only problem is that nobody really wants them. I regret buying the ones that I have. Money would have been better spent in something like R2.

out of curiosity: what is the scale comparison to 10230? I don't have any of that set, is it comparable, or much smaller?
