Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if it would be smart to pick up some of the new line of Lego bricks for girls, the 'Friends' theme? With all the hub-bub about it being sexist, maybe there is a chance that Lego drops the line and the sets become more valuable? Thoughts?

This must be a psychological thing. I actually have two little girls, so even when I'm alone, I don't feel weird at all venturing into the pink aisle. I will even be caught looking at My Little Pony! Lol. It gets easier with time, just hang in there fellas. :)

True. At one time or another, I used to feel awkward doing or buying certain things with other people around. After realizing "what does it matter and why should I care what anyone thinks?", now I just don't give a s**t. Hey, I'm a builder. If I want a FRIENDS set with a purple & blue convertible just cause I want those parts then I'm gonna do just that!

Yeah I could care less. I haven't bought any Friends sets yet, but I like some of the sets, especially the bigger sets like Olivia's House. Some of my friends make fun of me for building and collecting Lego as a 29 year old adult, I can't wait to see what they say if/when I start buying those pink and purple boxes ;)

Hahaha, yeah I love it as well and totally know the feeling. Most of my friends and even friends of friends know that I'm obessed with Lego and of course they all laugh at it and seem puzzled as to why an adult would collect/sell Lego. It's great when I'm at social gatherings with my girlfriend and other couples, and someone brings up that I collect Lego, and then they laugh about it and are like what? You do what??...............It's all good because us Lego investors will be the ones laughing all the way to the bank! LOL

Exactly Ed! I'm not going to lie, I've pulled you and Jeff up a couple times on youtube on my phone and have shown friends of mine the USA Today video. And as you said, the haters get pretty quiet once they see it haha.

Yeah, today I learned that the Friends were in the barbie aisle. Sorry, just thought everyone woulda got where I was going with that. Lol.

Actually, the Barbies are in the Friends isle. LEGO first, Barbie second. :)

Well, here is something else to add that I just found today at Wal-Mart. Right next to the FRIENDS LEGO sets in the Barbie aisle are the Barbie MEGA BLOKS sets! I, for one, am insulted. How dare they stick that blonde bimbo right next to my girls!

I think the stables are a solid choice, but if you are looking for Friends sets that might be better to target, I'd try to grab the Butterfly Beauty set and the Heartlake Dog Show. I'm really hoping that they go from sold out at S&**** to retired.

What little girl doesn't love ponies and horses? It is a good bet--it was just on sale on Amazon for 30% off.

I haven't been paying enough attention to the friends sets to notice that these 2 are most likely retiring or possibly already retired. They are not on the order form for 2013.
