Agree.  I bought one recently at $500, which is Canadian retail price just to have ONE to collect.  I thought modulars were expensive but this is my biggest single purchase.  I'm pretty sure there will be some folks happy to flip this for $50-$100 profit if it stays sold out and they need cash flow/funds back.  To each their own.  Healthy market if there's diversity and not 99% of people doing the same thing.     

$500 is not terrible if you're planning on holding long term and haven't bought in yet.  You have 120 days to return to target if it does come back.  If it's not back in stock at LEGO Shop at Home by then, I think it's pretty safe to say that this is good as done.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought 2 on Target.  Also signed up for red card.  Cant get that for a week.  Will bring to target and rering purchase to get 5% off when my red card and order arrives.

 

Let us know what price they re-ring at. And how po'd manager is.

I am at legoland Florida right now. At least one ssd in stock and I think more in back because I bought two and when I asked if they had others (one crappy box) they brought out a mint one from back. 399. Also apparently the tc-4 giveaway is not over. I got 30 of them with purchase of 2ssds (nice and rounded up!). Got them shipped (shipping 2 was 42 bucks but negates tax apparently!). Sweet deal! I want to clean them out but when we get back from vacation and 2 ssds show up good chance they come with divorce papers. too good to pass up though! Only mistake was I probably should have upgraded to an annual pass for 10% off. Florida bpickers get here now before I go back heh.

One would think that... but they are cursed. You won't sell any legoset and if you do it will get lost in the mail. You are warned.

I'll take the gamble.  Maybe it is only cursed in Europe.  I am so tempted to buy an RV and fill it with all the R2-s, MFs and Ewok Villages they had at LEGOLAND and get about 600 TC-4s or whatever I would get.  I should have asked the date that offer ends.  I went back at the end of the day and the SSD on the shelf was gone.  I asked a lady if they had anymore and she said "no I don't think so some guys came in and bought a bunch of them" so I hope it was BPers heh.  I should have bought them all, to hell with credit card bills.  Oh well, glad I got 30 TC-4s.  I let my son open one, cuts into the old profits!

I was there on 7/3 - last Wednesday, and the "studio store" at lego land had a bunch of SSDs - at least 6 on the shelves,.  No death stars in sight! Lol

In my case all I did was politely ask "So if I were to buy this 400-dollar star destroyer would that mean I get 13 of the TC-4s instead of only one?" and they didn't even hesitate to say absolutely. Management even got involved since I was having it shipped and it had a lot going on. I thought they would ask why I wanted so many TC-4s especially after I decided to get two SSDs but they didn't seem to care at all. Could be I got lucky or maybe they are sitting on 10,000 TC-4s and are trying like mad to get rid of them I dunno.

I didn't go in the studio store, this was in the big store by the front gate.

I ordered a SSD two weeks ago. Delivery dat would be 30 June 2014. Did not hear anything anymore so I emailed them yesterday. Today I got an email from them saying they were very sorry but delivery date is postponed to 8 August 2014.

 

I am wondering if I should cancel the order. Although it was a good price.
