Hi all I am new to this forum and new to Lego investing. I have recently had good success selling used Lego sets from my childhood on eBay. I am wanting now to start investing in new sets and selling them as well. I have been posting them on on eBay so they expire on Sunday between 9-11 pm est time.

Is this an ideal time to end auction's? Or is there a better time to have Lego auctions end?

Thanks

Hi,

I agree with Stephen. You want the auction to end on weekend nights when people you are targeting to be up. When I was selling sports tickets (e.g. Seahawks) on eBay, I would target auction end time zones where most of their fans were (usually around 9PM PST).

For Lego, I like Fixed Price auctions so auction end time of day isn't really an issue.

There is an eBay thread that discusses this topic. I'll find it and merge this thread into that so you will read many opinions.

for me it doesnt really matter ... what matters to me is the length of time it has on ebay ... 1 week is enough exposure ... if one wants to bid or buy, they will watch it till the end and if they want it theyll bid, early with a high bid if need be.

I thought I read somewhere one time that the highest potential sales return is to have an auction end or a BIN end on Sunday at 8:30 PM EST.

That's the general rule of thumb.  I pretty much exclusively use BIN. I list an item at a price I want and just let it sit until it appreciates to that price.  SOLD!
