Selling Lego on Amazon.com

Can anyone share with me their experiences with selling on Amazon.   I sold some stuff years ago and am now thinking of listing some items on there again.  I know their policies and prices have changed.  I am getting tired of the ebay fees and more the people purchasing on there trying to scam.  I am wondering if it makes sense to sell and ship self, or if there is a way to send them all items and fulfill for you.  What are the cost benefits or lack off from either way.

Thanks for any information or experiences.

As of this morning, policy compliance issues for my 4 listings that were at risk of removal due to "Children's Toys: Food and Product Safety Issues" have all been archived. Not sure what to make of that, did they come to their senses?

"Archived Issues: This tab displays issues from select policies and regulations that have been resolved or no longer impact your account health."

Same here

More Amazon return BS.  Had a buyer claim I shipped the wrong item so auto-approved return.  They returned the exact same item as purchased and Amazon denied a reimbursement of shipping and restocking fee.

Looks like about 10k worth of my lego will be destroyed in 14 days. Anyone know how to deal with this? Its for Fenders.

theyre kicking everyone off in waves.

was 30 sellers last week

20 when i posted

now down to 10 and only 1 seller prime

Someone posted this on amazon forums

From Google's Gemini:

No, Amazon does not treat all third-party sellers fairly; many sellers report experiencing unfair competition from Amazon itself, including allegations of product cloning, manipulation of search results, and opaque, automated account suspension processes. While Amazon states it offers choice and opportunity, and some sellers thrive, these practices and systemic issues can be financially damaging, making the platform a complex and sometimes hostile environment for third-party businesses.

Before selling on Amazon all new sellers should go to Google and type in "does Amazon treat 3P sellers fairly" and read the entire summary. From there you might also want to Google: "Is Amazon an ethical company?" and "Is Amazon a corrupt company?"

Quoting myself from August since Amazon just increased fees for 2026 (check your emails).

I should have opened a YouTube channel and charged people to see my predictions :drag:

i got it for lego. Can't figure out why i should be targeted more then anybody else.

Are you selling only retired sets, or are you selling some currently available sets as well?

This unfair pricing policy is getting ridiculous especially on retired sets. Amazon wants retail price or lower. wtf

Has anyone considered selling their amazon accounts with lego ungated.

Im starting to think about an exit plan at some point and curious what the market is.

I figure theres 3 layers of value.

1) amazon account

2) ungated for lego

3) sourcing and tips how to run business.

Just not sure what that value actually is.

You can’t sell an account as per Amazon’s policies .

can it be done ? Sure

yeah theres entire cottage industries that do it. I think u transfer to llc first or something like that...

Maybe you can't just sell an account "al la carte" but you can certainly sell a business that sells on Amazon.  I'm exiting.  Hoping I can sell through by next holiday.

I’ve considered it from time to time, but am not sure how much value simply being ungated would carry given the amount of uncertainty that Amazon has created over the last year.  You’d really need to be on the LEGO whitelist to be able to guarantee access to the platform and, even then, things like the new certification rules make it very risky to run the kind of business we’ve all run for years.  That being said, I’m sure you could find one of Shane or Jim’s followers who’d be willing to drop some money for access to the platform given how much they continue to hype Lego reselling.

I’ve gotten a couple random and unsolicited offers over the last year or so. One company in particular has sent several postcards via USPS, the offers…weren’t great. I mean, laughably low.
