I picked up the "last" R2 at the Woodfield Lego store in Schaumburg, IL on Saturday.  Unfortunately, the box is crushed on one side though the seals are intact.  I did finagle 500 extra VIP points because of this but I haven't seen them added to my account. The clerk told me that they had to enter it manually and it could take a couple of days.  Is this normally the case for it to take few days?  I'll be a little miffed if they don't add them to my account.

I'd be happy if mine only took a couple of days. My last two damaged box VIP credits took about a month to finally get applied. And I've heard the same story - they manually do them whenever someone (manager only?) gets a block of time free and Oct-Dec means there isn't a lot of free time).

For one of them they only applied 250 points instead of the 500 so I just called the store and pointed out the mistake and it was corrected within the hour.

    RIP Kenny Baker

  • Finally, my R2 shelf is complete. Thx for everyone's contribution. I think I'm going to start another row of these. These will not be on the market again for a minimum of 4 years.

If supraboy and christopherjb ever met face to face, it would cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe! Grante

My local Lego store had stock this morning, really tempted to pick one up quickly now

Has anyone ordered an R2 recently with more than 2 previously purchased from shop at home?  If so, did your order get cancelled?

Just curious, because I ordered one back in July when order limit was 5 and one in October when limit was 2.  So, technically I'm at the current limit of 2 from shop at home.

Well, TOOs means exactly that, let's see how long they last.

Yeah, these were in stock for only a few hours when they came back in stock on Monday.  I doubt these last until "Brick Friday."

Bravo!

Will you disclose which local toyshop? ;-)

it's a family run store in my town; they seem to had some excess in warehouse and needed some cashflow so they were clearance-ing some sets.

anyway..those were last 2 they had ... I would have bough many more ;-)

I almost bought that one but I was lucky that they had another pristine box sitting next to it. sorry

There are R2 and research institue in oklahoma city lego store. I was passing through and bought what i could.

I am sure that this must be a mistake. Surely it was just out of stock for manufacturing problems.

This set can't be going to retirement. It can't be doing the toos bounce. It can't flip to sold out at some point.

Those who are stockpiling this set do not know what they are doing.

(Sarcasm)

ugg what a tease. i searched for r2 in the main search and it the little icon said it was available but as soon as i clicked on the page oos. maybe my cookies are out of wack
