I really don't understand the UK eBay trend of flogging these for £220 including p&p

I don't think it was around long enough to be really discounted so people just seem to be just trying to cash out.

159.99 cost

22.00 ebay fees

7.68 paypal

20 postage and packing

So all that effort for £10.33 Profit

Or

33p profit if they're the last ones from Smyths sold above RRP.

Questioned this one myself !? I can only assume some of these people know people on the 'inside' and are getting them at staff discount ?? And the rest of them are desperate for a tenner !!!

Yup, I´d hope these are the folk that got them for less than RRP which means there is still ample stock to shift. I guess their selling activity will show if they are one trick ponies or have real portfolios.

Interesting to see that this weekend  a lot of units shifted, I just hope they are boxes being opened and built.

They were £130 at Smyths just before Christmas, eBay are currently offering 50% fees.   £220 from £130 with 5% eBay, is a fairly good turn over for 3 months.  Particularly if the value flatlines and doesn’t edge much above £220 for another 6 months.

We saw it with Lonely Mountain before and since the QFLL UK sellers who likely got it at 50% off ran out of stock it hasn´t sold at all so I guess the quick flip was the right move.

I wonder if a mod could just merge this thread into the speculative bubble one

A sizeable chunk of this thread should have been merged with 'Thread of Packaging Excellence'. That made for some tedious reading to slog through.

Now that stock is nearly done in Ireland and Britain, price speculation on fomer would-be 'banker' sets in this new epoch of the Golden Holdin' Horde is all we've left.

At the rate some threads are going right now, I'll be merging the entire board into the bubble thread!

We'll still have the same amount of threads though with all the new threads (that already have a thread) started by newer members...[emoji4]

Looks like Target is done.  You may continue to get text & email notifications but you wont get a Tumbler even if your order goes through.

Unfortunately, this is not always true...

Could?

Would?

Should?

To build the Tumbler or not.

My buy in for the Tumbler was around 120 ( open box, bags sealed, had to make sure everything was there).  Do I go ahead and make a nice profit or is it worth it to build and sell used.  I would assume the used price would go for about $150.

Would my soon to be 6 year old enjoy building this set?

I guess the math is - would I and my kid enjoy building this set for about $100.

Definitely not! But he would enjoy helping you building it... ;)

I would take a look at the recent used sold listings on ebay to figure out the used value.

This is by far a better way to determine what you might actually get in the market, heed this advice over the value listed here on BP. Good call @stephen_rockefeller

Saw one of these at £200, new BIN on ebay last night.  If anyone in the UK is after one for a personal build that's not actually a bad price (delivered too).

Surprised anyone would be dumping at that price though.

The question is would your son want to play with those exclusive mini figures, if he does would you be able to say no?

If he does and you can't say no then i say move onto a nice discounted $20 set to build and save the tumbler for a nice pay day in acouple of years.

Until the tumbler completely disappears from their website count on this happening on and off. Probably returns from people who overstretched themselves and realising that they couldn't double their money overnight and this dragged their sorry asses back to the store citing some sorry excuse for having to return it.
