Yeah that might have something to do with everyone thinking it had retired!

That being said, I also got in there for one more 76023 and will await my backorder. Damn you Lego...damn you......

Tumber is again in "Hard to find" category (20 items, 19 yesterday), with a "Sold Out" statut.

Don't want to ruin the party here but didn't something similar happen with Orthanc in the summer but then a number of orders were subsequently cancelled due to lack of stock?
But some good buys for those that are able to get them (just reading this now so missed out on all the fun)

Placed my order at 10.19am (GMT) at LEGO Shop at Home and now LEGO customer service have called me back to say they don't have stock and won't be able to fulfill my order after all. She said they had no stock of this item currently and weren't expecting to get any - she said I could leave my order open (it shows "Waiting for new Stock") in case there was a miracle, her words, but it was unlikely.

Just a heads up in case they cancel other peoples orders.

Just spoke to Lego and they said the tumbler and red 5 is definitely retired now and they are not producing any more. I asked whether people who ordered them before would still get their orders and she gave a blunt response of "possibly" so it's hit and miss I guess...

I didn't use my credit card. They sent me a mail asking me if I could provide with my CC details over the phone or wire them the money. I've sent out a wire payment which they should receive tomorrow. That might make me one of the lucky ones that gets a box. They wouldn't want to send the money back, right?

I'm sorry to say that it's most likely the case that when you changed your order details they reset your order to the back of the queue, and why you may of missed out. I ordered another 10 and mine are all listed as back ordered.

Just managed to order another for home delivery at smyths. Back to 26-29 Jan as soon as I ordered mine :) 3rd one, might consider getting a 4th if I can. Only problem is, storage :(

I suspect you may be right - even though the guy I spoke to specifically said that was not the case. Mercifully my wife placed an order and her's is still on backorder - so at least I'll hopefully get one to build, which was my main objective really.

Sucks that I got bumped for something so minor, as my order number in no way changed - lesson learned.

Is that not asking for Dr Banner to come pay you a visit?

Thought of something funnier

Already had about 7 accounts banned lol. I use different bank accounts/address's and scatter the orders about, including time spacing the actual order to make it harder for people to investigate. Been doing this since about 3 years ago when they started banning folks in the good old USA. Plus added bonus you get a load of the freebies. Although keeping track of orders does get very annoying

Hilarious...

A further FYI for all those who bought from the Euro LEGO Shop at Home today.

I sent them an email to complain that they had effectively cancelled my order by bumping it to the back of the queue when I asked to change address (despite the guy saying that's exactly what wouldn't happen). They emailled back to say the product was retired and had shown up on their site as a result of a glitch - so they were not sure if they would be able to fulfill any of the backordered items at all, though they changed mine to Backordered again.

The exact wording was thus: " We can't promise that you will receive this set but we hope your order will go through. But it could also be that every order with the Tumbler will be cancelled by our system. At the moment you can only wait what will happen and we hope that we will receive some informations about this case from our department. "

Who's gonna be the unlucky guy (or gal) who just got bumped off the bottom of the order list because Jack phoned up to complain ;) That person is now gonna have to phone up when their order gets cancelled to complain and get moved back into the queue, then the next person who gets bumped off the list because of that is going to have to complain. Then they'll just stick 2 fingers up to everyone and cancel all the orders and start again because of all the grief and it's back to square one. Probably :)

there were some available on 11.01, i ordered one and mine got cancled. i guess some ppl wont receive a tumbler. (my order was cancled after some days of waiting)

Actually I just emailled them. Never asked to be put back on the list really - just wanted to complain about being told my order was safe when it wasn't. Part of their reply implied that their system was showing TWO Tumbler's, one that was Retired and one that was Backordered for Feb 9th. My order was changed to the latter from the former.

I suspect though that we'll all miss out, as according to the customer service team they have no log of ANY stock being available.

Exactly. The best way to approach it is, I've left a speculative order, if it comes into stock then they'll charge my card and deliver it. If they don't have the stock then no worries. No point worrying or crying about it.

Edit - If people are really desperate for 1,2,3 etc of them, tomorrow is probably the best time to be monitoring the Smyths website. I was told in 2 different stores today that they're getting some Lego delivered tomorrow and as you've seen some have been trickling in today. Smyths tomorrow is a good bet to pick some up :)

I dont want to phone up at all. Ill just leave it and if they cancel, then complain. Playing ignorance helps sometimes. Thats crappy they put you down the que though, sounds like theyre looking for any reason to cancel. They probably had 5 sets. Shame some people have to go and buy 10...

Dear ....

We apologize for the delays and cancellation of some of your orders. But we have good news: Due to high demand and some complaints from bulk buyers, we have decided to extend the life of this popular set for another year. Our new batch is expected to arrive in March.. Blah blah....
