The fact that Smyths toys has had random amounts of stock come in and out over the last week or so, does suggest that there are batches of Tumblers out there so who knows.

strange. I couldn't buy it through googling the site but seems the order has gone through this way. Lets see if i get an apology or a tumbler in the next few weeks.

Think youre right though about the smyths having some though.

It must be a mistake - search SAH with word "retiring" and you will see many "retiring soon" sets with "Out of stock, expected ship date 9 Feb 2016". All have same date. Even if they produce new wave for tumbler, why would they bring back also pirates sets, etc?

Anyway, what was the last status of Tumbler - sold out or retired?

It look's legit like they found a surplus somewhere.

If they found surplus why would it be backordered? Wouldn't it just go to available?

I'm nearly positive it showed Retired Product.

It's possible it's a returned order from a retailer for one of several reasons including bankruptcy etc, but again who knows, may just be a glitch.

Back to sol d out. Did anyone snag a 10240?

Don't think that one ever actually came back - as it only showed as being able to order on the search results, but had no order button on the product page itself.

10240 didn't come back.. i searched it instantly ;) or the crowd was faster than me ;)

The fact it went from back order to sold out is a good sign, if they just wiped it off the site with no 'sold out' text then it would of most likely been a glitch.

A good sign will be a shipping number! Let´s see how this pans out - a full 30 minutes of availability was a lot for a few returns and unless they  were forecast returns they should have been available now.

Yes, it did. Some were faster than you. :sorcerer:

Got a confirmation email from Lego that order confirmed but they won't debit my card until nearer shipping date, so looks legitimate. Confirmed for both tumbler and red 5!

Forgot to change the shipping address to my work (as it means I don't have to go and collect the huge boxes when I'm inevitably not home). So I called them to change it, very helpful gent said the item was on backorder and should ship out before the 9th but their factories were at capacity and the Tumbler had been very popular recently.

Confirmed my order was valid, would be processed and changed my address. So take that for what it's worth, and fingers crossed everyone gets what they ordered.

Yeah that might have something to do with everyone thinking it had retired!

Indeed - though my LEGO order status has now changed to "Waiting for new stock" which is worrying......
