how many did you sell at what % gain after fees/shipping?

so ask Ed Mack since he is counting gains on his inventory before he sells lol (just teasing Ed)

so everyone loves to complain how horrible it is but no one seems to ever sell out and leave that says something what I am not sure

Honestly, this stinks for current owners / hoarders.  Over 2.5k sold on eBay and God know how many on target.com.

I am pretty sure the Target.com inventory and the eBay inventory are linked ....

4000 is nothing, look at the padbod who had only 1000, worth about 2k..... so 4000 units is nothing even 10 000 at this point.... we are  8 000 000 000 on the planet, many sets were part out etc

I'm going to throw you all a bone.  Even with 5,000 sold in the past couple of months (some went to end users), this set would still not crack the Top 25 sets in people's Brickfolios.

Thanks for the data point. I would agree from the standpoint of this set has not been produced for that long, and we all were pleasantly surprised it was going EOL. I think we got lucky with the new Sup / Bat movie and the need to get this set out of the proverbial way ....

Even with the last few drop shipments streaming in and a bunch of returns or canceled card transactions, these have a few good things going for it.

Additionally, the folks that are buying many of these sets are folks that have some capital and can hang onto them for a while not flooding the market until prices reach an acceptable level.

Sure, there will be some that have purchased and extended themselves and will sell early ... but more "liquidity" for the rest of us.

Even if the new batman movie is great, I think this set will benefit from that. Also - if it is not so good, then this set will really benefit from it. My feeling is that the new movie will be good, but not great. So the Nolan trilogy will simply increase in value with very little chance of any additional supply coming to market ....

Yeah but because people wants what they cannot have

sure a tajmahal is prolly in the top 25, but if it was worth only MSRP,.... would it still be? I mean, lego market has been exponantial this years, but retired sets were limited... and prolly not produced in same quantities has today.... but fact are facts, if if if doenst count

Not worried.  Seems like they only have 200-300 to sell based on inventory.  Will be gone by the end of the day most likely.  Likely just returns.

Of note, I ordered a TON from target and kept the best 20. Many if the ones i returned were opened, crushed, had holes, etc.  When I returned them, they were marked as salvage.  I did not know what this meant at the time.  My friend tried to to buy one after I returned it, but they refused to sell it to him because it was salvage.

They stated that any time a large number of the same type of childs toy gets returned, regardless of condition it gets marked salvage and is sent back to the warehouse and destroyed.  I found this hard to believe as it would mean that they would be destroying thousands of dollars in Legos.

I contacted my friend who is regional manager for target.  He stated that based on the agreement with the vendor, a salvaged item could either be donated or destroyed.  He states that based on the name in order to preserve brand integrity, they would not be allowed to donate items as then they would show up at goodwill and lower the brand name.  He says food, clothes, and seasonal items typically get donated.  The rest it is a tossup.

I am betting lego wants to preserve the brand, and likely has them destroyed.   They can write off the loss on the the tax return he said.

I will still keep an eye out for tumblers at my local goodwill though.

Taj Mahal is not even in the Top 100.  Not even close.  That's why it's $3000.00.  LOL

on the other hand i just looked at amazon and it might be the exception to the rule...

One at $380 US shipped, after fees. Buy in was $190 Canadian.  Terrible 280% return in two weeks but at least I can afford some raffle tickets.

My one regret is that I only bought a few but I am small time and am not actively looking at buying anythin right now, this just fell on my plate.

Owned.  What is currently in their possession.  The Tumbler was not a stockpiled set and still isn't, even with these 5000 or so being added to the mix.

Yep.  Shut up now.  You never see me talking about it.  Neither should you.  Architecture sucks.  No minifigures.  It sucks.  Do you understand?
