Stock round Belfast seems healthy enough but with the £10 price increase at Smyths and my low commission ebay offers all used the profit in flipping these isn't enough any more. Got four, by Friday that will hopefully only be one and I'll look elsewhere for quicker gains.

As it's the 9th today, and that's the end of the window Smyths were saying they were due in all stores, it will be interesting to see what the status reads tomorrow. I smell another price change a-comin'.

There are no LEGO stores in Ireland so no limits apply. You can fill your boots.

I've got 2 to keep (1 to build) and in total I've passed up about 12 from 2 visits because I don't see it going up that much for several years if I being honest

Basically all higher priced Lego sets go up in price, if the buyer is willing to hold which most people seem not to anymore, in 2 years time people will be kicking themselves for not having 20+ of these, when the prices hit £500+.

It's true. I see a lot of mint Tumblers popping up for around 300€ a piece. Selling so soon is just plain silly.

For the price of overhoarded sets to rise over time, some people have to sell now to reduce supply. I really hope this one doesn´t become the next Fire Brigade - it shouldn´t due to the short life but there is also much less demand and the starting price point is higher. I´m probably exaggerating but I don´t like what I have seen with this set so far.

Yes, if everybody would hold their sets and wait till the price would reach, say, €500, and then a majority of resellers would suddenly flood the market with their MISB offers, it would crash the price of the Tumbler on the 2nd hand market. So for a healthy future market we really need to get the air out of the Tumbler bubble by having new-time investors jump on the small price-increase now and get rid of their Tumblers for a small profit. It will benefit the patient resellers who wait out this 'storm' until supply and demand will hit healthier levels.

Like Val-E says, he's probably exaggerating (a bit), and the future value of the Tumbler will most likely get up there some day. It will just take longer to get there...

Everyone has there own strategy and maybe they are all just plain silly.  I have qfll 4 for modest profit and have 4 as mid/long term hold.  I could not easily have kept all 8 for mid/long term hold and certainly not 20+.  Most importantly I am comfortable with my approach.

Got mine this morning from Lego site, will check the condition and seal codes when I get home. Funnily enough this will be my third Tumbler from the site despite the 1 set per customer limit? Thought I'd have been banned by now or at least ticked off or put on a "reseller" list, am I riding my luck?

Smyths have moved the availability window again, and stores that haven't had stock for weeks - including several in the south-east - had stock for click and collect.

Seems like a sales tactic to get folk into stores and picking up other odds and ends while they're there. They could centralise the stock for home delivery and shift the lot in no time.

Must admit the way these are hanging around is making me wonder if it's ultimately quite the winner everyone hopes it will be.

DC only gets one direct to consumer set at a time and that is the 1960s Batcave. No UCS Batmobile for at least 18 months - 2 years.

I'm not against flipping, but surely the release of the new Batman vs Superman movie will only increase the value? Why not wait another couple of months?

I think they will probably release a new batmobile, but not a UCS. At least not right away. If the new Batman movies and the batmobile design catch on they might release a new UCS set. I don't think it would decrease the value either. The Nolan trilogy is already very highly regarded and the Tumbler is an essential part of the Dark Knight style. I'd be suprised if the new batmobile becomes just as iconic. Besides you always have the completionists who will want all the versions, especially UCS sets.
