True. I haven't been selling my pre-owned sets lately. I have so many pre-owner sets to still build and sell. Then ones I did build, I only sell 1-2 out of every 3

LOL. I did not realize the I vs i until you pointed it out. 

My theory: Mods were trying to update or delete one of the questions and there was a technical error. As a temporary solution text was edited to ignore and to have two "different" answers accepted by the system one was capitalized?  

not trying to be a box drama queen but I just got my shipping notice for my Tumbler that I ordered from Amazon and the e-mail says it shipped out today in the same box along with a 15 lb bag of dog food I ordered separately a few days before. 

Anybody wanna take bets on how the Tumbler shows up on Monday via UPS?

haha I will try to take pictures when it arrives on Monday!  I am shocked (although I guess I shouldn't be) that someone at Amazon shipping decided to pack a toy with a heavy bag of dog food! 

This will be my 3rd Tumbler so if it's in bad shape I'll probably end up keeping this one as my build set.  Still haven't had a chance to open one of my others.

Wow, those Tumbler prices sure are tumblin on Ebay EU now. A boatload of them for under 280 euros / 200 GBP - Smyths effect, maybe or wrong time of the year to buy exclusives again?

Still a few hundred in Smyths at £160 I reckon, credit card payment dates are starting to catch up so it could go lower soon. One of my buyers came up with a non-payment excuse (didn't read the listing properly...) but I'm not relisting now, into hibernation we go.

QFíng  Tumblers for 20 quid net profit seems like such a face palm move.....

Yep, definitely. But them peeps credit card bills must be biting shortly. Ah well, we'll just sit nice and tight .

I´d really hope they got a good buy-in and wanted out with a handy profit during high season. Trouble is, all those media articles didn´t stress how long it took 10179 to get to its current level.

I wonder if the buyers are also new investors thinking £200 is a good price to get in at. Could see a crash in nine months if that's the case and they then panic to get out to have some cash for Christmas.

Clearly the Smyths effect. It's still in stock at Smyths.ie again today, that's 4 days in a row now it's been back in stock. It only looks bad because Lego has retired it, but prices are what you'd expect them to be if Lego had simply labelled it OOS. But they seem to want it gone from their system for whatever reason.

The only thing that would cause a crash in prices is if Lego started making them again. The last batch was made in the 47th week of last year, so whatever is out there now is all that's ever gonna be out there. It really doesn't matter who is buying them at this stage, as long as there is enough demand from end users to keep whittling down the number of MISB sets.

Perhaps both your posts give the explanation - Lego had to stop production and official sales by a certain date (31st Dec) to abide  by the license agreement and have been channeling that last massive production run through shops, who can sell when they want. Any returns have been making their way back onto SAH, sporadically.

I'm sure you're onto something here. A small local toy shop had several Tumblers for sale that they got near the end of last year. Normally, that shop does not receive exclusive Lego sets as they cannot order them.

I would say the vast majority of 'new investors' who started investing into Lego's after reading an article in the news letter about it, will abandon it just as quickly within the year. Especially after they realize it's not so easy to make a buck with this stuff. That may hurt the market short term but will help it in the long run.

Ended up arriving today via USPS (they left it outside the front door of my work address which they're not supposed to when we're closed, but that's a different story).

Anyway, here are the photos. The box is about as crushed as I would have expected. Of course they packed the dog food ON TOP. The box was heavily caved in the center. Amazon offered me a full refund or a small discount because they obviously don't have any replacements available. I'd rather have a shiny new one but I'll keep it at a small discount if everything inside is ok.

Can Lego pieces inside the box break due to something like this? It's never happened to me before but this is the worst packing job I've seen so far. I'm opening it up tonight to start the build so I'll see if any pieces are damages.
