I plan on picking up 4-5 this year.  Does that sound unreasonable?  I usually pick up sets that are closer to retirement but since I can get them a B&****** for under $60.  Plus there is always that wildcard of that set being sold out during Christmas so they might go for $140 on ebay and then after the holidays use that money to pick up 8-10 of those sets.  Thoughts?

Absolutely.  Anyone can call out a better alternative two years down the road, but the LEGO Movie was all the rage when it came out and really boosted sales of LEGO at the time.  It was also when we saw a spike in the number of resellers entering the market so there was massive hoarding that helped keep prices down post retirement.

And this was the flagship playset so people like me went in and snubbed DDC, which had a shorter life and is making more profit.

All I know is I still can't walk by my few copies of 70816 BBS and 70809 LBEL without flipping them the middle finger.

Lord Business is quite rare here now and has recovered to RRP and alittle more.

Benny´s was clearly overhoarded and is no Millennium Falcon. Heck, it hasn´t even been bootlegged.

I bought a Benny's Spaceship set from Target for $94.99 back in June of 2014. The set has been sitting at FBA ever since, accumulating storage fees. I paid too much and made some bad picks back then...and still do today!

I remember reading that one of the reasons for one of the delays in TLM2 was creative differences and that they brought in a new team and it was going to be a musical in space, no joke. So maybe there is hope for this set in 2019 unless they do a remake. 

It would be sad if they remade a set considering the movie is suppose to showcase the product.

I didn't buy any sets when the film was out. However, my 4yr old is now a rabid fan so I'm hunting them down. It really smarts having to pay retail to reseller scum.

Count yourself lucky your child is not a rabid Porkins fan. 9493 prices are through the roof thanks to resellers scum.

I think 70816 BSSS has a bright future from here on out.  70814 Construct-o-mech was probably less hoarded by resellers, and hung around on Amazon at about 1 x or 1.5 x RRP for a long time... then has made a strong move up since Christmas.  When the herd thins a bit more on 70816 BSSS, we'll be rewarded.
