Wow cheap at $54.99.  Great deal for those who bought them.  Beat most folks' best price by $10 ( Boscov BOGO last yr).

Bought a bunch quite a while ago for less than $50 each, still don't know what to do with them. It is great for build and play but more likely to be a bust investment wise.

The boxes make a great place to rest a pizza on.

Ehh. I would expect a decent flip.

Before the sale, they were going for $80-85 every few days.

I am just going to hold it for awhile. I have a little gut feeling these may have a new-found demand once the new movie sets get announced.

U can't go wrong with it....i think  at $55

If bought at a good discount, I think they'll do fine after 18 months or so. I'd be surprised not to be doubling my money by then.

That was the completely empty SW section completely full of SSS

I guess they stack them all together to make it easier to put the clearance tags on after Xmas.Or maybe they´ll bundle them with something people actually want.

I really like this set at $50. It should settle in around $120 by next Christmas and could gain steam when the next movie hits. I remember seeing big stacks of Black Pearl on clearance too...

The Spaceship is within my reach. I hope to claim after Christmas. Unless the seller happens to read this..

Actually, I think he is staring at the plexiglass Star Wars display and wondering "Where are all the Star Wars sets? This blue ship isn't Star Wars?!"

This was in fact the star wars section, and no, there was not one star wars set in it. Entire thing replaced with SSS. There were two random buildable figures over with SW action figures, that's it

I bet the store manager was heard yelling, "You ordered how many Benny's Spaceship?!!!"

I still shed a tear on the many I passed by. I was fresh from my dark times though.

In Europe this sits surprisingly at MSRP or below while some of the other sets from the movie (all retired) went up really fast.

 

E.g.:

Trash Chomper - already at 1,5-2xRP

Bad Cop's Pursuit - 2xRP

Emmet's Couch - 2x RP

Lord Business' Lair - 1,5-2xRP

Many other (like Emmet's Mech, MetalBeard's Duel) also trade above RP while the rest sits at RP or below, including the spaceship. I'm not even mentioning the Sea Cow which is a different animal.

I am new to collecting/investing Lego but it is a bit surprising - I would expect Benny's ship to go up the fastest (it's cool, has space theme, wasn't on the market for too long). I really can't see why of all the movie sets Trash Chomper, Lair or Bad Cop's Pursuit are appreciating. Any thoughts? May it be because the spaceship was quite expensive and there's a lot of stock on the market? I would appreciate any comments - I'm looking to build up my LEGO movie colection and am trying to understand the market for those better.

 

Too many made, too many hoarded, still easy to find in shops and not enough real demand at the moment. Check back in 2017!
