Site Improvements & General FAQs

To all BrickPicker members and guests... As my brother, Jeff, stated earlier, we are a new and rapidly improving site about Lego 'investing' and collecting. If you feel there is anything we need to change or add, please feel free to message us. It is a work in progress and new ideas are always welcome. Feel free to ask us any questions about the site or various Lego sets/values. There are over 8400 Lego sets in our database and sometimes mistakes happen. If you have any questions or opinions about various Lego sets, displays, or minifigures, let us know. We will help in any way we can. Thanks... Ed Mack

Thanks for the quick response.  Searching for non works great, searching for many of the other keywords contained in that thread does not.

I think I get it, it has to be part of the thread title as searching for "steamroller" does not return anything for me either.

Is there another place to search for keywords in general that are not part of a thread title?  Thanks again,

u can do an advanced search. Click on the gear next to the search field

I didn't use the brick trader yet so I hope I didn't miss anything... but as far as I have seen you cannot sort by nationality.

I think it would be a nice improvement if that would be possible, since brickpicker has become somewhat international.

Like "show all countries" or only show x, y, z, ... (you know with boxes that you can check ;-) )

Thanks for the tip, that worked perfectly. I never noticed the gear before.

Hello,

I am relatively new here and I was not able to find any answers for this in the forum.

Can someone explain the components of the profile card and how those values are created?  Some are self-explanatory, like the number of post, but others are a mystery to me....like the dots above the post count.

You can hover over the little pictures to get a description of the "awards" that the user received.

The little dots/bricks are just a "rank" based on the number of posts a person has made as a member of the forum

Thanks!  Is the title above the profile picture also dependent on the "rank" as well?

Correct.  The new forum software will be released shortly.  We will release new forum rules and ranks and a better explanation of site procedures, such as the 5 post approval system for new members.

Removed reference to site causing all kinds of hurt.

Can anyone else confirm?

I tried on Mac.  Firefox 36.0.1 as well as latest versions of Chrome and Safari and I am not redirecting anywhere.

Tried with many sets .. all are redirecting me Ali express..

Have no trouble if I use IE

Are you sure you don't have some sort of spyware/malware on your computer that effects Firefox?

I was unable to reproduce problem with Firefox 36.0.1.  I tried with and without logging in to my BP account

Uninstall completly Firefox.. did an ccleaner, did malewarebytes .., re-installed firefox .. now seems to be ok ! .. but none of the programs I used caught something unusual .. so something is wrong somewhere !... How could it had linked my system to ALI express Knock off lego ? ...

somehow BP most have been tracked, or attacked by them to forward our search in BP to their system ?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to search like using the price guide search option on the website using the Brickpicker mobile app on the iPhone?

Thanks!

The forum app?  All it is is a forum app.  There is no price guide in that app.

Are there any plans to include the price guide functionality? or is there another app for the price guide?

thanks!

I'm also getting directed to aliexpress when trying to click on any of the brickfolio links.

I'm using Chrome on OSX

Can u clear your cookies and cache and try again

That's done the trick for me, Cheers

Same problem here.  Any link in the Brickfolio took me to AliExpress.  Cleared out all my cookies/cache, fixed the problem.

Also, how long for the database to populate prices on new sets like Speed Champions and Pirates?

You folks with this problem really need to google "how to remove aliexpress pop up" or something similar. You also need to stop visiting sites other than BrickPicker where you're picking up the malware, browser hijackers, etc. :negative:
