  • The brickfolio and price guide are getting a major kick in the butt and will finally be more of what I envisioned it being years ago.  Much better integration between the other major sites, much more

the posts about error messages miraculously disappeared! :(

?

I am getting a lot of 404 Not Found errors when I try to look at blogs and just the blog section in general. Anyone else having this problem?

where?

When I click the blogs button (now working) it used to show up as a 404, but when i click links to old (pre converted) articles I can't find them anymore or if I search for an article on google then click it its a 404 (for example click the first link here: https://www.google.ca/search?q=brickpicker+galaxy+squad&oq=brickpicker+galaxy+squad&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l3.6286j0j4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=brickpicker+galaxy+squad+wave+1). Well, now that the blog section is working for me I guess its fine as I can just search from there (also some EC articles got moved to Community like this one: http://blog.brickpicker.com/city-airport-sets-investments-that-fly-high/).

I posted the error message and MartinP said he also had that error too after replying to posts. but those two posts we put here were gone. I don't think those two posts violates any rules, I'm wondering if the new system somehow ate up posts.

I deleted them because I was aware of the issue and in the middle of making changes.  Once I was able to finish what I was doing, I just deleted the posts because they were not relevant any longer.  That is all.

Need more detail than that.  Is it every set you try only spitting back two?  What are the sets you are trying?  I just tried 4 sets and it it spit back 4 sets.

I tried 10190, 10185 and 10182 - the three modulars. I think it may have happened because I switched the order of the sets using copy and paste after I had populated all three fields? It was weird. I tried it again and only got one of them, and then again and got all three in a weird order. So I just thought it was something from the latest changes and not local.

It seems to be working now though.

I just tried exciter1's link on daily thread to DNIIM's post and happened to find this error so I'm posting it here.

It's the link in DNIIM's early post:

http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/5628-get-lego-sets-including-exclusives-and-hard-to-find-in-your-amazon-goldbox-consistenly/?hl=gold+box

error message after clicking the url in the post:

I did some more investigating and it appears we may have a slight issue re search optimization. The articles often end up high when you search for related stuff, but when I click them it says page not found. I tried this by searching for a number of articles on google, none worked (even though if you navigate the site you can find them). Examples (click the links to BP articles):

https://www.google.ca/webhp?tab=ww&ei=COPFUoOfNa3oiAKliYCoCw&ved=0CBEQ1S4#q=lego+creator+housing+market

https://www.google.ca/webhp?tab=ww&ei=Q-TFUpXbHIv8oATVq4EY&ved=0CBQQ1S4#q=brickpicker+orc+forge+article+masterpiece

Clicking through always takes me here: http://blog.brickpicker.com/www.google.ca even though all those articles are viewable if you find them by going through brickpicker. It seems there are two sets of links or something? This sort of worries me because I think the blog section is a great hook for newcomers to get introduced to the site and hitting a 404 the first time you go to a site is a turn off for most people. Is it just me?

Everyone, I am fully aware of all the 404 errors for things.  I just did some major changes and have not been able to finish all the redirects. It will clears up over the next few days.

Ah, ok. Good to hear, thanks! You're the man.  :super:

I keep seeing that I am logged in as someone else, but when I click on the username, it reverts back to my own account. Strange. Anyone else have this glitch?

I'm from Europe and I would like to have the current price of an item in the brickfolio be the price of European markets. Right now it looks like it takes it from the US markets?

That question has been asked before and Ed Mack said:

There are many things happening behind the scenes and many issues just are not discussed with members.  Jeff has been working on the Brick Classifieds and another major improvement that will be launched very soon that will improve the look and functionality of the site.  Sometimes, some site improvements and features are postponed because of other issues that arise or time restraints.

That being said, we realize the Brickfolio needs an upgrade and that is on the list for 2014.  We want to make it more spreadsheet like and will ask qualified members for input.  We will also implement the non-US data in the Brickfolio system when there are enough listings to do so.  We have well over three times as many listings for the US than the other three(Austrailia has even less), so it's a hard decision on when to switch.  Most likely, the whole Brickfolio upgrade will happen at the same time, but it will happen.  I know Jeff has mentioned coordinating the Brickfolio with the Brick Classifeds so that people can easily keep track of purchases and sales and actually list items off your Brickfolio directly onto the Classifieds.  Good things are coming...

I've noticed an Amazon link on Set 5571 (Giant Truck) which is incorrect.

After a few moments of over excitement at finding a bargain, I found it actually links to a Space Police set :-(

These older sets are a little more touchy and their amazon numbers can change since there isn't a lot of stock of them.  Other sets may take over the amazon number and that is what I think happened in this case.

I've notice the conversion rate on all sets is now askew for Aus vs US. When I look up a set the approx conversion price is wrong. I.E Set 7751 is listed at $211 Aus dollars and approx $108.57 US dollars. When the actual approx figure should be $187~ since the conversion is currently around $1.00AUD = $0.89  US

I came across a minor bug. Nothing important really, but I thought I'd mention it. When I look at the facts about my Brickfolio (the right column on the Brickfolio page), everything seems to be in order. However, when I click the link of my LEAST valuable set (new), I'm being directed to my MOST valuable set (new).
