I thought it might be fun to have a place to share pictures of the terrible ways we receive our sets (sarcastic thread title), whether it's pancaked sets, oversized boxes, etc.

I'll start with my SSDs that arrived a couple days ago:

Enormous box:

Three sets inside, with no packaging material. Third set is underneath the top two, and was crushed with all 4 seals popped:

This box came to me today. What could be inside? A couple Death Stars? 60 Minecraft sets?

Nope, just one HH and about a kilometer of air pouches:

At least they actually padded this one, and I'll have enough pouches to last a while lol. But of course the set just had to have a hole on the back side...more returning to do.

Curious to see others' photos :)

And the rich get richer. eBay auto refunded me when the item was marked as delivered, and the message came in just a few moments after the transaction went through.   ^^ I bet the FBI

It's not his fault.  His prices are too good to pass up during 5x...in my opinion.

i agree the price is too good to pass during 5x and it is not his fault. that's why i am keep it instead of return.

Now we know.

Now we know.

That's good stuff. I like how the second last UPS guy tosses half of the boxes in the truck, gently places the taller skinny one and then continues to throw the rest.

Ha. I noticed that as well. "He protected the modular!!" I thought.

Now we know.

AMAZING!  Some good laughs there.

Lots of air pillows does not help with a wrong size box.

Thanks Target. Now, I need to hunt for another one of this set to fill my quota.

Well at least I got some free air pillows. Yippee !

lol I wonder if the person who packed it literally smashed it to make it fit.....

yes it really looks like it was the case. Lol

Why bother with the air pillow?

I have about 40 exclusives ordered from Amazon/Target over the last 3 months.  Only 4 arrived in a condition I would call MISB where there was minimal scuffing or little/no creases - and all 4 had no air pillows from Amazon.

I should have taken pics of the sad Tumbler I received from Target in their massive box - the pillows cause the Tumbler box to burst/tear seals and had creases on every side.  Kind of disheartening that it takes just 30 seconds to wrap the Lego box with the air pillows rather than just throw it at the bottom and have it get crushed by pressure.

Well, they should eat those.

But they're my IR's!!! [emoji6]

Man, I'm so tired of contacting SAH over damaged boxes.  They just need to open a store around me and all would be good.  I think the fed ex /ups guy is jumping on my boxes because he's so tired of coming to my house.  The last month has been nothing but disappointment with box condition.  TRU and wallys is terrible....amazon... a bit better.  I returned a couple death stars to amazon the other day...they send me them in the lego warehouse boxes inside another box.  They came perfect.  Sometimes a person can smile...but sheesh...for the most part delivery is terrible.  I prefer USPS...but SAH won't pay their costs.

I won this lot from Shopgoodwill http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=24548914

when I received the box with several lots that I had paid for together, I almost missed the figure 4 pack until I noticed the outer sleeve folded neatly in the bottom of the box and I thought WTF is that? once I pulled out the sleeve and unfolded the cardboard and saw that it had been torn in several places to flatten it. then I had to dig into the bubble sheet in the corner and find the figures crammed into the corner.

I sent them a message to complain, especially considering that they charged me a handling charge and radically overestimate the shipping weight. They asked me to send more pictures of the shipping box. No apologies, no hint of reconciling my disappointment, just irritating requests for pictures of a cardboard box that had no issues.

Got my IR from Walmart. No I did not remove anything from the box before snapping the pic. I guess if I decide to sell a whole set of JW I have a box I can cut down to fit it. This came USPS too. My carrier's jeep isn't that big

I've had terrible packing from S@H more than the shipping.  Why do they think the box has to be overstuffed with air bubbles?  They are mangling the sets by forcing the box closed so they can tape them.  Then the top of the boxes are bowed out from the air bubbles, so when other boxes are set on top of them, more pressure is forced on the sets.  I'm at about a 60% mangled rate from S@H lately.
