I thought it might be fun to have a place to share pictures of the terrible ways we receive our sets (sarcastic thread title), whether it's pancaked sets, oversized boxes, etc.

 

I'll start with my SSDs that arrived a couple days ago:

Three sets inside, with no packaging material. Third set is underneath the top two, and was crushed with all 4 seals popped:

 

 

 

This box came to me today. What could be inside? A couple Death Stars? 60 Minecraft sets?

 

 

 

Nope, just one HH and about a kilometer of air pouches:

 

At least they actually padded this one, and I'll have enough pouches to last a while lol. But of course the set just had to have a hole on the back side...more returning to do.

Actually that's a good point. If the plan is to part them out just open them. I wasn't honking about it but that's what I'll be doing with my Daleks, Cybermen, Wicked Witches and others...

I decided to keep, at first thought i was only going to get about $10 worth of points but when i saw another forum poster say they got $30 i inquired about it and got the 600 VIP. Still may hurt a bit when i resell but we will have to see.

So, that's two complaints for today...

Ahhhh Kmart.... I kid you not. Yesterday I received these 2 packages from Kmart.  The first is a Minecraft set, wonderfully packaged - note the double reinforced cardboard box.  The second was a Raptor Rampage shipped in a plastic bag - previously opened, and thoroughly beat up.  Just saw on the news that they are closing both Kmarts within 40 miles of me, so looks like my Shop Your Way days are coming to an end anyway.

As long as you still have a Sears nearby, you should have any problems getting good SYW deals on LEGO - either directly delivered to your house, or using Ship-to-Store. It definitely hasn't stopped me.

Sears?! Ha ha. .. my nearest one closed a few years ago. Next closest is about 25 miles. Sure I can "shop my way " via the web, but it's just less interesting with no chance of going in a store and snagging a clearance deal.

Well. If the deals are good enough you should ask if your western friend could pick up at one of 2 kmarts and a sears near him.

2 vet clinics, ordered the same day. One warehouse knows how to pack. The other, not so much. Despite this, the box only picked up a minor scratch...

You may want to re-post with different picture, unless you are fine with showing personal information on it

From Toys'R Us... ordered a Technic Volvo , got the Mercedes AROC -- customer service was friendly enough - shipped the right item two days later. Now to see if the refunds post properly.

Ahh.  Gotta love some eBayers efforts when it comes to packing.  Used set, brown packing tape down both sides of the box so it doesnt open.  Then write my address on a bit of paper and just tape that to the front of the box too... (wish I'd taken a pic now for better effect).

Don't even wrap in brown paper.... now there's efficiency for you

Well, if you're a volume seller then all these small savings in packaging materials and expenditure of time add up fast. This results in better prices offered to your customers.

I left them some shipping feedback in my latest survey.

I guess if you buy clearance you don't get packing materials...both boxes are somehow minty fresh despite TRUs best efforts.

My best was from amazon uk of set 42042 : they just stuck the labels to the outside of the lego box; no need for packaging, it is a box already.  I complained and got a large discount as it was for myself and not to sell on.
