February 16, 20232 yr I can't wait to see this in a large Modular City between the Daily Bugle set and some other set like Town Hall. Wish they would have snuck in one of the connection pin points on the side.

The first thought that popped in my head as the photo came up was Polar Express because of the blue cars and white tops. Although quite a bit different side by side. Anyone know why they chose blue? A lot of the images up to this point seemed to be leaning green. Edit: I see now, the original campaign had a green engine/tender and the car was a dark blue. Sort of like the original better. October 11, 20232 yr engine does not look scaled well with the cars. and if it's just another display train, easy pass from this train fan
October 11, 20232 yr Perhaps they went with blue because there's already a fantastic green engine. I feel that it might be an easy mod to lengthen the engine 4 studs, but won't know until I see it.Pictures look like it's compatible with current setup, thus in for 3.Yay LEGO!

November 16, 20232 yr In the designer reveal video they stated that the learned from the "UCS" Hogwarts Express that people wanted a train that fit on real tracks so they downsized the original locomotive submission and included 2 cars instead of one. But what good is it if the train fits on lego tracks but can not be motorized? Perhaps they will get it right on the next train set.
November 16, 20232 yr I'm sorry, but that engine looks terrible. Price seems absurdly high for an Ideas set too. Easy pass. Keep it up LEGO, I need to scale back in 2024 😂
November 16, 20232 yr I was really looking forward to this set, but looks like a miss. Funny that Lego will use the slow sales of the UCS Hogwarts Express and this Ideas set as 'proof' that Creator Expert trains are not worth the effort.
November 16, 20232 yr They priced themselves right into a slow seller here. Should have been $199.99. UCS Hogwarts Express is over 5000 pieces plus licensing at $499.99.

There is also a licensed parnership in this set as well. It sounds like they were heavily involved on the design process.
December 13, 20232 yr $80. First ideas set with such an atrocious price per piece. Specialized pieces yeah yeah.. dont care. Hard pass.
