This thread is for confirmed "Retired Product" status updates as per Lego.com official website.

 

I decided to create this thread as somewhere to keep track of confirmed EOL dates as per Lego "Retired Product" tags.  Leaving the other thread for rumors and speculation (I have been through all 75 pages and pulled any confirmed retirement dates in to here).

 

The "Retired Product" status can be found on Lego.com by searching for "Retired Product", this link should take you there: http://search-en.lego.com/?q=Retired+Product&cc=US

 

Yes a "Retired Product" tag does not mean the set cannot be found at other retailers, but it is an official confirmation that the set is EOL (End of Line) at Lego and that future production and sales have been halted (there may be some exceptions to this and we can never say Lego will never ever bring them back).

 

I'd like to keep this list updated and populated with any changes, so please post them (for the US based Lego Shop at Home only please).  

 

Because the Lego.com site does not have a date when a set is retired I have used the latest stock availability date as recorded at Brickset.com.  On the Lego site many sets get a "Sold Out" tag and/or a "retiring soon" tag, then at some arbitrary time they get a "Retired Product" tag.  If we think about it, the actual date of retirement is the date it goes "out of stock" for the last time.  As such I'd like to start capturing set's "Sold out" status dates as well, but that can be a phase 2 project.  So for now if you spot a new "Retired Product" post it below.

 

This is a table of the most recent few months.  Attached at the bottom is a full Excel spreadsheet with all the sets I could get from Lego.com.  I hope you find it useful or interesting.

The main happy surprise for me is that the Sandcrawler did in fact retire along with the Ewok Village. That means it had a 6 month shorter lifespan than the EV and hopefully was too big and too expensive to be uber-hoarded.

Now the real question. Will these sets be actually unavailable at retail or "Birds Retired" and available at some random US retailer for 30% off months after retirement?

Finally some of the big sets retiring.

A few I'm surprised at are 75136 Droid Escape Pod (I'd been recently stocking up) and 75140 Resistance Troop Transporter (Leia / Carrie Fisher minifig).

Somewhat surprised at 21305 Maze and 76035 Jokerland.

75136, 75140, and 21305 all released in 2016 and retired less than a year later.

Happy about Scooby Doo, I just recently hit my inventory goals on those.

Why surprised about these retirements? The Lego group have showed you exactly what was retiring over the last couple of months by doing it first in Europe. What would be interesting and surprising would be if any decent sets that weren't already marked as retiring already in Europe had been retired in the US. We don't have the luxury of that in Europe though unfortunately.

The whole first wave did.  That fact makes 75140 really surprising to me.

The new way Disney is doing the Star Wars Movies should completely change the way the sets stay on the shelves though too.

Except 75100 (FO Snowspeeder) and 75103 (FO Transporter).  They don't have the tag yet, but they are still OOS and show no signs of life/restock.

Yeah, I've got them added.  Those two weren't listed earlier this morning.  I'm getting ready to post what I have now.  Added a dozen or so sets that weren't listed this morning

 

So perfect correlation with EU retiring soon tags - only surprises are Simpsons and Angry Birds sticking around. Season over?

I think they're all done with the possible exception of 75105 MF.  I'm pretty sure (haven't verified with a manager) that this has a spot in the new mod coming soon at WM.  They normally don't have a spot in a new mod if they're getting ready to retire.
