I've successfully kept myself out of this thread for the last week or two.  And I'm going to continue keeping myself out of this thread until after I see the film.  Should be interesting to go back and read a month from now.  lol

Harrison Ford actually shows emotion while talking! Must watch TV folks!

Looking at how Harrison is talking about this film makes my excitement ratchet up more than anything else. Knowing something of how he historically responded to questions about Star Wars, his reactions make me feel that he is genuinely behind this one.

In most interviews I can recall watching, Harrison seemed drunk, hostile and/or reluctant to be there. His recent interviews have made me think of a different man.

Well all that "Kylo might be female" is more based on wishful thinking than on facts. Whereas HIM being a man has been using facts and clues that we have been given to determine the sex of that character.

As a science person I'm sticking to the facts and clues approach.

Also: This is not the new ghostbusters movie so men are still allowed. We got Captain Phasma who is the suprise female of this movie. Leia and Rey will probably be strong female characters (especially Rey). I mean we can argue about BB-8... is this shape suppossed to be... but that would take it too far if you ask me ;-) And don't forget about our animated alien character who is kind of female. Let's be honest: Ther is a good male/female ration in there from what we know right now. Nobody really cares too much about the nameless characters in the background. For all we know most of these stormtroopers could be female... in theory...

(I'm also hoping for a female officer as we have seen in the LEGO sets. Female stormtroopers would also be great but I doubt we'll see that (other than captain phasma)).

 

Maz Kanata was on the daily show today, but he did not really tell much about the story line, only that "Han Solo is flying with her MF."

That's what I saw in the app too, but then I went over to Safari and at least the video loaded.  One of my favorite scenes from "Total Recall" and one of the managers of our Wal-Mart looks just like that lady.

I tried finding a link to the video elsewhere, but not having much luck.

Darth Plagueis is prob my fav Star Wars book. When they announced the EU was no more, I always wondered why this book wasn't included in the new canon as it was released not that long ago. I wonder if darth Plagueis isn't really dead...

Yeah, this has pretty much been the popular theory for the last six months or so....or even longer.  At this point, I would actually be shocked if Snoak ISN'T Plagueis.  There's been so much evidence to support it. Rey's staff, his height, his long face....everything Serkis has already said about him being vulnerable and having been around for a while....it all adds up.
