I no longer have a 42009 built, mine was also converted to the Ultimate 42009.

Hi to all and sorry for bringing such an old set back to the surface but I want some advice.
I found this crane for 160 euros and I was wondering if I should buy it or spend my money on a newer set? The box is a little discolored probably from the sun.

Depends on your location and selling venue. But here it is selling for 300+ euro. So I would say... buy buy buy!

Yes, you are on the limit of a safe buy-in price. Another element to consider is there will be a new Technic flagship crane in the summer you this may affect demand.

I see. Thanks for your quick response guys.
I see many guys selling them used for that price and my first thought was to buy it. After all it’s in its original box even though it’s has some discolouration.
I’ve also watched some videos on YouTube and it seems to be a very fun set to build
